This role offers the perfect blend of people management and process optimization in a collaborative environment.</p> <p>About the Role</p> <p>As the Operations Lead for E&S Property Insurance, you'll develop and empower your team to reach their full potential while providing effective support across multiple underwriting teams. Your strong business judgment, client orientation, and natural curiosity will drive improvements that impact productivity, process efficiency, timeliness, profitability, and accuracy throughout the underwriting process.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Build positive relationships with both underwriting and operations leadership teams while ensuring high quality of work </li><li>Lead team performance to deliver against timeliness, quality and efficiency metrics, with a focus on continuous improvement </li><li>Develop talent by recognizing team members' skills, helping them understand growth areas, building on strengths, and participating in training development and delivery </li><li>Drive process improvement by leading and collaborating on Standard Operating Procedures, system enhancements, and testing/piloting changes </li><li>Collaborate across teams with the ability to navigate through corporate processes effectively </li><li>Manage staffing requirements including interviewing and hiring of employees </li><li>Travel occasionally to attend meetings, seminars, and programs </li><li>Complete assigned projects successfully and on schedule </li></ul> <p>About the Team</p> <p>North America E&S Property Business Services is a knowledgeable and dedicated team who operationally supports Underwriters in providing non-admitted insurance coverage and capacity for hard-to-place risks. We handle a large volume of accounts and coordinate with wholesale brokers nationwide to service insurance policies for a wide range of occupancies across multiple industries.</p> <p>About You</p> <p>You're a people-focused leader who balances operational excellence with team development. You have a strong insurance background and thrive in collaborative environments where you can implement improvements while developing your team members' capabilities. Your communication skills enable you to work effectively across global teams, and you're always seeking new knowledge and opportunities.</p> <p>Essential:</p> <ul> <li>Insurance background with knowledge and understanding of commercial insurance principles and practices </li><li>University degree or equivalent work experience including direct involvement in Commercial lines products and coverages </li><li>Minimum 5 years relevant experience </li><li>Effective communication skills and leadership abilities to encourage, empower, develop and lead a team </li><li>High proficiency in Microsoft software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) </li></ul> <p>Nice-to-Have:</p> <ul> <li>Experience fostering improvements and simplification in systems and processes </li><li>Demonstrated success working collaboratively in a matrix environment </li><li>Experience working with globally located teams, with sensitivity toward cultural differences </li><li>Additional language skills beyond fluent English </li><li>Strong analytical thinking and financial acuity </li><li>Ability to work independently and proactively </li><li>Excellent organizational skills with flexibility to work optimally under tight timeframes </li></ul> <p>This position is flexible to our Windsor, CT office or Kansas City, MO office, with potential to consider other locations for qualified individuals. We operate on a hybrid work model where you'll be in the office three days per week on average.</p> <p>The estimated base salary range for this position is $74,000 to $120,000. The specific salary offered for this or any given role will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to job location, scope of role, qualifications, complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent, experience, education, and employer budget.</p> <p>At Swiss Re, we take a "total compensation approach" when making compensation decisions.
