<p>Position Details</p> <p>Position Information</p> <p>Position Title Instructor, J Frank White Academy Department JFWA Position Category Faculty Job Description</p> <p>The primary responsibility of the instructional faculty member is to teach assigned courses in accordance with the mission and standards of the J. Frank White Academy.</p> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>degree in subject area taught as well as 12 hours of professional education courses and six hours of coursework every five years taught; and *Tennessee certification in area of specialization or appropriate permit/interim license. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications Physical Demands Campus Harrogate</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>promote the mission of the J. Frank White Academy and Lincoln Memorial University to all faculty, staff, students and to the community at large;</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>promote effective working relationships among faculty, staff and students;</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>participate on University committees;</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>teach classes assigned by the Principal;</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>develop and distribute a course syllabus for each class assigned, and present copies to students, parents and the Principal;</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>teach each class within the framework of the mission of the Academy, the University, and the syllabus as presented;</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>establish course objectives for each course taught and create lesson plans aligned with Tennessee standards for the grade and content area taught;</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>assist in revision of curriculum as assigned;</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>evaluate enrolled students and submit grades in a timely fashion;</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>requisition materials required;</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>participate in the evaluation process and utilize the results to improve teaching effectiveness;</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>participate in events that support the institution, the faculty, staff and students;</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>assist at Academy basketball games, parent nights, open houses, preview nights, commencement, fundraisers and other duties as assigned;</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>advise one Academy organization;</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>update knowledge and skills;</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>leave materials/plans for substitute teachers;</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>maintain compliance with SACSCOC and or Cognia requirements for faculty members;</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>comply with the Academy Faculty Handbook and the LMU Employee Policy Manual;</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>provide 180 days of instruction plus five full days of in-service;</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>attend monthly faculty meetings;</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>participate on faculty committees as assigned;</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>sponsor at least one student organization (including after school or evening work associated with this sponsorship);</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>work athletic events and open house events during the year;</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>perform other duties as assigned; and</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>complete required institutional and program accreditation reports and other reports necessary for the operation and advancement of the University and the J.
