<p>Job Description:</p> <p>The Office for Social Justice, Equity, and Inclusion offers a unique opportunity for students to assist in overseeing and implementing our diverse cultural programs. This role, for example, will allow you to be a part of Unity Day, a comprehensive college-wide student-led and student-driven event. You will be able to design, coordinate, and implement more than 30 activities on this date. In assisting with other cultural programming, you will advertise, monitor attendance, and evaluate and tabulate participants' survey responses to the more than 60 activities in 2023-24. This is a chance for personal and professional growth.</p> <p>Responsibilities include:</p> <ul> <li>Advertising cultural college events. </li><li>Monitoring participants' attendance. </li><li>Administering event surveys. </li><li>Tabulating workshop attendees' responses. </li><li>Administering or assisting with implementing specialized programs (e.g., Unity Day, EMD, EWD, Social Justice Educational Series, cultural celebratory events, etc.) </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Must have a valid FAFSA on file </li><li>Must have a financial need, as demonstrated by the FAFSA </li><li>Must be matriculated into a program </li><li>Attending at least half-time (6 credit hours) </li><li>Maintain satisfactory progress (SAP) towards the completion of their program </li><li>Must be a Work-Study Eligible Student in good academic standing (2.0 GPA or higher). </li><li>Must have excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and time management skills. </li><li>Potential applicants MUST be open to working with a diverse student population. </li><li>Some cultural competence training and experience preferred. </li><li>Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred. (English and another language will be considered). </li></ul> <p>Additional Information:</p> <ul> <li>Pay Rate: Starting rate of $15.50 for new Federal Work Studies. </li></ul> <p>Starting rate of $16.75 for returning Federal Work Studies</p> <ul> <li>Hours of Operations: Monday-Friday 8:30 am- 4:30 pm </li></ul> <p>To see if you qualify for a Federal Work Study (FWS) Position:</p> <ul> <li>Visits OCC's Work-Study Page </li><li>Review the Work-Study Checklist & complete and submit the Work-Study Interest Form </li><li>Or visit the Financial Aid Service Center (FASC) located in Gordon Student Center, open Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 4:00 pm </li></ul> <p>Federal Work Study may work up to 20 hours per week while classes are in session.</p> <ul> <li>Additional hours may be worked during college breaks. </li></ul> <p>Application Instructions:</p> <p>To be considered, please submit a resume or a list of your skill sets and provide the days and times you are available to work.</p> <ul> <li>If you need assistance creating a resume, please contact the Career Services Center at: 315-498-2585 </li><li>For additional questions, please email: hr@sunyocc.edu </li></ul>
