Potential future earnings for this position on the ESP Salary Scale are $20.40 - $36.90.</p> <p>5.5 Hours/Day, 12-Month Work Year</p> <p>Reports to the Supervisor of Employee Benefits</p> <p>Employee Benefits Summary</p> <p>Role Overview</p> <p>This position is responsible for supporting the operation of the human resources benefits team to ensure that a qualify benefit package is provided to employees and retirees.</p> <p>Minimum Requirements</p> <p>High School Diploma/GED</p> <p>Three years of administrative experience and/or training.</p> <p>Demonstrated advanced skills in a variety of software and electronic communication tools, including MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and Google Apps.</p> <p>Proficient word-processing skills with the ability to produce grammatically correct documents and correspondence.</p> <p>Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive employee information.</p> <p>Ability to multitask, organize, and prioritize within a fast-paced office environment.</p> <p>Demonstrated positive human relations skills, including phone, email, and in-person interactions.</p> <p>Ability to manage and conduct projects within the department as assigned by human resources administrators.</p> <p>Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.</p> <p>The ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>Associate's degree or higher.</p> <p>Three (3) years of successful experience in a human resources environment and/or working with one or more of the following: medical, dental, vision and prescription benefits/claims, life insurance and long-term disability benefits/claims, 125 Plans, EAP (Employee Assistance Program), FMLA (Family Medical Leave Act), COBRA, retirement benefits (both defined benefit and defined contribution plans), and/or workers' compensation processing.</p> <p>Working knowledge of Board of Education policies and procedures.</p> <p>Public sector and/or K-12 educational experience.</p> <p>Excellent verbal and written communication skills.</p> <p>Familiarity with a wide variety of technology tools and their use; including Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, OneNote, Outlook, Publisher), Google Apps, videoconferencing technology, Tyler Munis, HUB, UKG, Frontline, etc.</p> <p>Ability to obtain MSRA (Maryland State Retirement Agency) retirement coordinator designation.</p> <p>Role Responsibilities</p> <p>Maintain high level of confidentiality in conducting office business/assignments.</p> <p>Communicate clearly and concisely in written and oral form.</p> <p>Utilize various types of office machines, equipment, and technology to complete assigned tasks.</p> <p>Produce information by formatting, inputting, editing, retrieving, copying, and transmitting text, data, and graphics.</p> <p>Distribute correspondence in the appropriate format (electronically, mail, inter-office delivery, etc.)</p> <p>Maintain department operational information (financial, statistical, program data) either manually or electronically, entering data, retrieving and analyzing data, and compiling reports.</p> <p>Maintain department calendars for departmental staff; including scheduling meetings, conferences, teleconferences, training sessions, facilities use requests, etc.</p> <p>Create and maintain electronic filing systems for benefits, retirement, leave of absence, workers' compensation records, correspondence, and other documentation.</p> <p>Create and maintain benefits and employee wellness areas of the WCPS website.</p> <p>Manage the employee wellness programming, coordination, and approvals.</p> <p>Assist with leave of absence administration.</p> <p>Process andmaintain records forpremium payments for retiree self-pay, leave without pay self-pay, and employee self-pay.</p> <p>Provide administrative support to the HR Benefits team related to responding to emails, phone calls, and drop ins related to benefits, open enrollment for active employees and retirees, benefits compliance, retirement, seminars, workshops, wellness related programming, events, ordering and inventory, special projects, and attend necessary meetings and take notes as requested by the coordinator.</p> <p>Provide an elevated level of customer service and demonstrate a service-oriented attitude in a courteous and professional demeanor to all employees, retirees, and stakeholders of Washington County Public Schools.</p> <p>Handle interactions with third party vendors in a courteous and professional manner.</p> <p>Maintain high-level of confidentiality inconducting office business/assignments.</p> <p>Perform other duties specific to the assigned departments.</p> <p>Provide support for the entire human resources department, as needed.</p> <p>Environmental Factors and Physical/Mental Requirements</p> <p>The Environmental Factors and Physical/Mental demands represent those that an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p> <p>Required prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer and other office equipment.</p> <p>Ability to sufficiently and efficiently move throughout the building.</p> <p>Must use sensory skills to effectively communicate and interact with others as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, and hear.</p> <p>Ability to maintain emotional control under stress.</p> <p>Ability to move, raise, lower, and carry objects up to 20 lbs. on an irregular basis.</p> <p>Must be able to bend, crouch, stoop, reach, and climb.</p> <p>Ability to work overtime if needed.</p> <p>Will be subjected to loud noises, interactions, and traffic flow associated within a highly populated office environment.</p>
