They ensure networks are operating efficiently and securely by identifying and resolving issues as they arise. The Senior Network Engineer must have an in-depth understanding of network protocols, server hardware and software, and operating systems. They are also responsible for administering network security measures such as firewalls, and monitoring and controlling access to networks. In addition, they collaborate with other IT professionals to develop and implement new network systems as needed.
