<p>Colgate Information Technology Services (ITS) is a dynamic organization that serves the diverse technology needs of the university community. Under the leadership of the CIO, ITS is embarking on a strategic planning process to align services and resources with several exciting new initiatives identified in Colgate's Third Century Plan.</p> <p>More information can be found https://www.colgate.edu/about/third-century-plan.</p> <p>Accountabilities</p> <p>Each summer, the Information Technology Services department seeks additional staffing to complete the many projects and summer operational procedures that must be accomplished to prepare for the upcoming academic year. The staffing needs can vary by project, and in skill level required, and in many cases the skills can be learned on the job. Typically, our work load requires us to staff for service desk assistance, classroom technology maintenance, inventory and review of equipment - including the deployment of new equipment and the retirement of older equipment, webpage and other communication updates, wired and wireless networking maintenance, as well as other tasks critical to our support of the University.</p> <p>Under direct or indirect supervision, after training and standard procedures are explained, the Information Technology Assistant will be tasked with (but not limited to) a combination of the following:</p> <ul> <li>Respond to inquiries and requests for help and providing customer service in person, on the phone, or over email to answer questions, assist in providing one of our many services, or assisting in the resolution of technology problems. </li><li>Assist with the maintenance and/or installation of computer and/or AV equipment or wired/wireless network devices in offices and/or classrooms and/or other spaces on campus. This includes the testing of new hardware, as well as inspecting and assessing equipment used for loaning. </li><li>Test newly installed software, and work under supervision to develop training materials for student staff. </li><li>Assist with the creation of digital artifacts, including documentation, websites, multimedia projects, and more. </li><li>Assist in digital fabrication requests in areas such as Robotics, 3D scanning & printing, drone and remote sensing and AI/Machine learning. </li><li>Setup and/or breakdown and cleanup of physical space. </li><li>Assist with general database entry and/or verification of data and clean up. </li></ul> <p>Requirements</p> <p>Professional Experience/ Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Depending on your job duties, a valid drivers license </li><li>Good listening and questioning skills that can be translated into writing </li><li>Ability to follow set protocols and follow instructions </li><li>Ability to work independently </li><li>Punctual and dependable </li><li>Work well with diverse population </li><li>Able to set up and connect/disconnect computer systems, including, but not limited to laptops, docking stations, and monitors </li><li>Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously </li><li>A willingness to learn new skills and try new experiences </li><li>Embrace diversity of thought and deal with intellectual challenges </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of computers - both Windows and Mac OS </li><li>Knowledge of tablets and mobile devices </li><li>Basic understanding of a computer network </li><li>Experience with equipment lending and equipment lending software </li><li>Experience with Camera and Video Equipment </li><li>Experience with Powershell </li><li>Experience with Audio & Video Capture Equipment </li><li>Experience working with AI Models </li><li>Experience working with Adobe Creative Cloud applications </li><li>Experience with 3D Modeling Software and 3D Printers </li><li>Experience with Website Builders (i.e. WordPress, Google Sites) </li><li>Ability to lift and/or move equipment </li></ul> <p>Education</p> <p>Highschool diploma or equivalent.</p> <p>Physical Requirements Other Information</p>
