Richards High School</p> <p>Date Available:</p> <p>Immediately</p> <p>Closing Date:</p> <p>When Position is Filled</p> <p>  Additional Information: Show/Hide</p> <p>Head Dance Coach</p> <p>Position: Head Dance Coach</p> <p>Reports To: Athletic Director</p> <p>Stipend Category: VI (Pom-pons Football Head; see contract Appendix II for placement)</p> <p>Summary and Purpose: Support student-athlete development in dance and promote</p> <p>the Richards Athletic Department mission and vision statement.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <p>Teach competitive dance fundamentals, strategies, and sportsmanship.</p> <p>Supervise student-athletes during practices, meets, travel, and related events.</p> <p>Attend and actively participate in all scheduled practices, meets (home and away),and team functions.</p> <p>Plan practices, develop routines, and conduct skill instruction.</p> <p>Monitor and enforce all eligibility, safety, and conduct requirements as established by IHSA, the school, and district policies.</p> <p>Chaperone and supervise athletes at all competitive dance events (including practices, meets, games, etc.), maintain discipline and promote a positive team environment.</p> <p>Maintain a safe environment and report injuries promptly to appropriate staff.</p> <p>Accurately report scores and results on IHSA School Center website</p> <p>Complete required paperwork, attendance logs, and communicate with parents and administration as needed.</p> <p>Attend coach meetings and required professional development as assigned by the athletic department.</p> <p>Additional Expectations:</p> <p>Available to work in the off-season</p> <p>Assist with equipment management, set-up, and breakdown for practices and meets</p> <p>Foster academic achievement, positive citizenship, and school spirit among student-athletes.</p> <p>Complete required first aid, CPR, and district coaching certifications as required by</p> <p>IHSA and adhere to all training expectations.</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>Previous high school dance coaching experience preferred</p> <p>Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) or ASEP Required</p> <p>Compensation and Benefits for External Applicants :</p> <p>Individuals hired from outside CHSD 218 as seasonal coaches or activity sponsors</p> <p>receive only the contractual stipend for the assignment. Board-provided employee</p> <p>benefits (including health, dental, life insurance, leave, and participation in district</p> <p>retirement plans) are not available to external hires in these roles. For benefit eligibility,</p> <p>an individual must be a contracted district employee.</p>
