<p>Job Responsibilities</p> <p>THIS POSTING HAS BEEN EXTENDED.</p> <ul> <li>Previous applicants are still under consideration and do not need to reapply* </li></ul> <p>This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health, Catawba Community Mental Health Center (CCMHC), 205 Piedmont Blvd, Suite 100, Rock Hill, SC 29730</p> <p>The Office of Mental Health's mission is to support the recovery of people with mental illnesses. We provide a complete array of medical and support services for children, adults, and families throughout South Carolina.</p> <p>As the Psychiatrist, working under limited supervision of the Catawba Community Mental Health Center (CCMHC) Medical director, you will provide psychiatric services to the center's patients, perform professional duties requiring analysis of broad spectrum of medically related problems. Plan various interrelated medical activities within the facility. Responsible for medically related administrative functions in the clinic.</p> <p>Responsibilities for this Psychiatrist:</p> <ul> <li>Evaluate the need for, plan and provide psychiatric treatment for outpatient and emergency services for the patients of the CCMHC during normal work week. </li><li>Consult and collaborate with staff (case managers and therapists) in formal (SPD, treatment teams), as well as informal settings. </li><li>Assist Medical Director and Executive Director in assuring that clinical staff receive appropriate clinical supervision. </li><li>Assist with staff training and acts as a community liaison with the local medical community. </li><li>Meet with appropriate clinical supervisor(s) to review clinical and administrative needs of the clinic. </li><li>Provide supervision and guidance to Nurse Practitioner as needed. </li></ul> <p>Minimum and Additional Requirements</p> <ul> <li> <p>Licensed to practice medicine in SC. Completion of full residency (4 years) in psychiatry.</p> </li><li> <p>Three (3) years' experience in a psychiatric program, two (2) of which must have been in Community Mental Health Services.</p> </li></ul> <p>Additional Requirements:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Ability to lift five (5) pounds.</p> </li><li> <p>In order to be credentialed for core services as a Mental Health Professional at the SC Office of Mental Health, you must provide evidence of clinical experience providing direct patient care. This experience may be documented as a practicum or internship during graduate program, or post-graduate clinical experience.
