<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Department: Library</p> <p>Job Title: Library Aide - Access Services</p> <p>Number of Vacancies: 3</p> <p>SSTA Supervisor: Linda Donahue</p> <p>Position Type: Non-Supervisory</p> <p>Number of Hours Per Week: 4-6</p> <p>Shift: 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday</p> <p>General Statement of Duties: Perform customer service and clerical duties necessary for the effective operation of the Access Services unit, as well as shelving and shelf-reading to maintain good order of the stacks.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Provide quality customer service to library patrons.</p> </li><li> <p>Charge and discharge materials using the automated circulation system.</p> </li><li> <p>Shelve library materials and assist with stack maintenance.</p> </li><li> <p>Retrieve materials from the collection as needed</p> </li><li> <p>Complete assignments and projects as directed by Access Services staff.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide patrons with accurate information related to library services and general policies.</p> </li><li> <p>Help patrons navigate the library and locate resources in the stacks.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs other duties as assigned.</p> </li></ol> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>Required Qualifications:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Must be dependable.</p> </li><li> <p>Must be accurate.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work without constant supervision.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to handle personal information with extreme confidentiality.</p> </li><li> <p>Must be comfortable interacting with students, faculty, and members of the community.</p> </li><li> <p>Some computer skills required.</p> </li></ol> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Experience working in a library or customer service environment.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and/or Google Apps.</p> </li></ol> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>Worcester State University is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer which seeks to reflect the diversity of its community.</p> <ul> <li>This position is available for WSU students only* </li></ul> <p>Hourly Rate: $15.00</p> <p>Application Instructions:</p> <p>Students must apply online.
