Our community focuses on promoting resident independence while providing support with activities of daily living in a warm, homelike environment.</p> <p>Position Summary: The Resident Assistant, or RA, is a caregiver providing assistance to residents under the supervision of the LPN and/or RN. Resident Assistants provide compassionate care that is respectful of each resident's needs, values and wishes.</p> <p>Job Specific Competencies</p> <p>Principal Responsibilities:</p> <p>Core Competencies:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Supports the Trinity/SPHP Vision, Mission, Values in all encounters with residents and families</p> </li><li> <p>Adheres to the SPHP Code of Conduct</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrates accountability as an individual and team member in meeting basic resident and family needs</p> </li></ul> <p>Clinical Competencies:</p> <p>Resident Assistants provide the following nursing services under the supervision and direction of an LPN or RN across the continuum of care at SPHP.</p> <ul> <li> <p>Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting and mobility in a respectful, compassionate manner.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist residents in taking medications as needed.</p> </li><li> <p>Encourage and support resident independence and dignity.</p> </li><li> <p>Monitor resident safety and well- being, reporting any change to the LPN. Consult with the LPN/RN on any changes of health statuses of residents.</p> </li><li> <p>Build meaningful relationships with residents, understanding their personal histories, preferences and routines and anticipate needs of residents.</p> </li><li> <p>Help with light housekeeping and meal service as needed to maintain a safe and clean living space.</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in team meetings and communicate/collaborate with coworkers and supervisors.</p> </li><li> <p>Promote a warm, friendly, and respectful environment.</p> </li></ul> <p>Education Requirements:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Must possess patience, empathy and a genuine desire to help others</p> </li><li> <p>High school diploma or GED preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Previous experience in senior care, health care or assisted living preferred, but not required</p> </li></ul> <p>Must be able to:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Ability to follow care plan and safety protocols</p> </li><li> <p>Working knowledge of computers including electronic health record, checking email, and preforming required in-servicing, along with use of other required applications</p> </li><li> <p>Have the physical, visual and auditory ability adequate to perform resident care</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain composure and positivity in a high stress environment</p> </li><li> <p>Promote physical, cognitive, and psychosocial well-being of each resident</p> </li><li> <p>Work with residents in a highly personal manner during stages of acute and chronic illness</p> </li></ul> <p>Pay Range: $17.50 - $19.20</p> <p>Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates.
