The Social Studies department is committed to engaging all students to think critically and to understand diverse perspectives about the human experience.</p> <p>We seek teachers who can help us achieve our mission and teachers who exemplify our core values:</p> <ul> <li>High Achievement for All </li><li>Excellence in Teaching </li><li>Collaboration </li><li>Respect for Human Difference </li><li>Educational Equity </li></ul> <p>Job Summary:</p> <ul> <li>This is a part time position for a 1 year leave. </li><li>Teaching Social Studies classes you are assigned </li><li>Attend department and full faculty meetings </li><li>Participate in Teachers Mentoring Teachers, our induction program for new faculty </li><li>Communicate with families of students </li><li>Attend IEP meetings and provide feedback to support staff about student progress </li><li>Work collaboratively with colleagues on building and sustaining the team curriculum for whatever classes are assigned. </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Mass. DESE certification in 9-12 History, Social Studies, or Political Philosophy </li><li>SEI endorsement </li><li>Belief in our mission and core values </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Two years teaching experience </li><li>Masters Degree </li></ul> <p>Brookline High School is especially interested in qualified candidates who can contribute through their teaching to the diversity and excellence of the Public Schools of Brookline community.</p>
