GEO Academies students have the opportunity to earn a full college degree or career credential even before graduating from high school - at no cost to families.</p> <p>REPORTS TO/TERM:</p> <p>Regional Director of Exceptional Student Services</p> <p>This is a Full-Time 10-month position.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrated knowledge of Louisiana Speech, Language, Hearing Specialist </li><li>Demonstrated ability to access resources needed to support students in a wide variety of areas of need. </li><li>Proven leadership/ coordination skills </li><li>Demonstrated ability to build and work with a team, harmoniously, toward common goals. </li><li>Highly developed planning and organizational skills </li><li>Excellent communication and problem-solving skills </li><li>Belief that every student will learn </li><li>Proven ability to use interventions and individualization strategies to increase student learning. </li><li>Communicate and collaborate with other teachers and school administrators </li><li>Motivate and support students in reaching high levels of personal and academic success; including proactively collaborating with the dean of student culture and social worker to address attendance concerns. </li><li>Create a positive student culture around online and small group learning </li><li>Maintain frequent communication with students and their support network regarding academic progress </li><li>Dress professionally and uphold all school policies </li><li>Perform other duties, as deemed appropriate, by the principal </li></ul> <p>Requirements</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Education License with Speech, Language, Hearing Specialist, with Louisiana eligibility </li><li>Master's Degree Preferred </li><li>Experience in the field of Speech Therapy </li><li>Proven determination for student success </li><li>At least two years of successful teaching in an urban environment </li></ul>
