Is able to handle several situations simultaneously and prioritize accordingly. Must maintain confidentiality. Must be self-directed.</p> <p>EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:</p> <p>High school graduate or equivalent, business school or formal secretarial training preferred. Participates in education conferences and in-services. Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) Certification preferred.</p> <p>Participates in orientation and continuing education. Updates and maintains knowledge and skills related to specific areas of expertise.</p> <p>SPECIAL EQUIPMENT, SKILLS OR OTHER REQUIREMENTS:</p> <p>PC and appropriate software knowledge. Knowledge of office equipment and supplies. A solid understanding of department related terminology. Effective communication skills both oral and written as well as good interpersonal, motivational and strong organizational skills including time management required. Customer service orientation.</p> <p>WORK ENVIRONMENT AND HAZARDS:</p> <p>Office environment. Exposure class II.</p> <p>PHYSICAL DEMANDS:</p> <p>Sedentary work.</p> <p>WORK CONTACT GROUP:</p> <p>All services, employees, medical staff, patients, visitors, contractors, vendors, and various regulatory and professional agency staff.</p> <p>SUPERVISED BY:</p> <p>Director, Manager, or Coordinator</p> <p>SUPERVISES:</p> <p>None</p> <p>CAREER PATH:</p> <p>Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) or Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM) Certification.</p> <p>General Performance Criteria: Credentialing Specialist</p> <p>Expectations</p> <p>Exceeds Meet Below</p> <p>Has broad based knowledge of hospital unit/services.</p> <p>Adheres to established hospital policy and procedure related to job function.</p> <p>Reviews applications and other data for accuracy and completeness.</p> <p>Performs verification of reappointment applications by preparing requests for</p> <p>information letters, tracks responses and follows-up for needed information.</p> <p>Obtains licensure, certification and insurance certificates at time of</p> <p>reappointment and maintains in database.</p> <p>Enters accurate and up-to-date data for each applicant into the database and</p> <p>responds to verification requests.</p> <p>Assists in compliance with the accrediting and regulatory agencies in regards</p> <p>to credentialing while developing and maintaining a working knowledge of</p> <p>the statutes and laws.</p> <p>Responsible for coordination and preparation of medical staff functions;</p> <p>prepares for committee meetings, takes minutes, processes and distributes</p> <p>appropriate correspondence.</p> <p>Ensures that all expirables are reviewed, obtained and managed on a monthly</p> <p>basis according to the rules and policies.</p> <p>Assists in managing the flow of information between the MSO team,</p> <p>Credentials and MEC Committee members, Medical Staff Leadership</p> <p>(including the Service, Department and Section Chairpersons) and the</p> <p>Vice President for Medical Affairs.</p> <p>Assists Medical Staff Services Manager with duties such as making</p> <p>copies, preparing mailings, attending staff meetings, preparing minutes, etc.</p> <p>Maintains the confidentiality of all business/work and medical staff information.</p> <ul> <li>Purpose </li></ul> <p>Job Description Purpose</p> <p>Pay Range: based on location and experience</p> <p>$25.00-$35.70</p> <p>Our Commitment</p> <p>Rooted in our Mission and Core Values, we honor the dignity of every person and recognize the unique perspectives, experiences, and talents each colleague brings.
