<p>Position: Trade Compliance Research & Advisory Analyst</p> <p>Location: Hybrid / Remote</p> <p>Reports to: Senior Director of Customs & Trade Compliance</p> <p>Status: Exempt</p> <p>Role Overview</p> <p>This role sits at the center of smart, defensible trade compliance decisions. The Trade Compliance Research & Advisory Analyst is the person we rely on to dig into tough regulatory questions, translate complex rules into practical guidance, and help our teams and clients move forward with confidence.</p> <p>You'll be a trusted advisor to operations and leadership-strengthening how we research, document, and apply customs regulations. This position supports existing management and frontline teams by bringing clarity, consistency, and rigor to compliance work.</p> <p>What You'll Do</p> <p>Client & Internal Advisory</p> <ul> <li>Tackle client and internal compliance questions that require real research and judgment. </li><li>Turn dense regulations into clear, usable direction for entry writers, account teams, and customers. </li><li>Join client calls and meetings when compliance insight is needed. </li></ul> <p>Research & Regulatory Analysis</p> <ul> <li>Study CBP regulations, rulings, Federal Register notices, and PGA requirements. </li><li>Analyze issues involving valuation, classification, country of origin, admissibility, and documentation. </li><li>Prepare well-written summaries that explain the risk, options, and recommended path. </li></ul> <p>Operational Support</p> <ul> <li>Partner with entry writers and customs leadership on non-routine or high-risk matters. </li><li>Support classification reviews, ruling strategies, and corrective actions when questions get complex. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge Building</p> <ul> <li>Track regulatory changes and share what matters with the business. </li><li>Help create internal guides, SOP drafts, and client advisories. </li><li>Contribute to compliance updates that keep clients informed and prepared. </li></ul> <p>Continuous Improvement</p> <ul> <li>Spot repeat issues and help fix the root cause. </li><li>Support audits, internal reviews, and process improvements that raise the bar. </li></ul> <p>What We're Looking For</p> <p>Must Have</p> <ul> <li>3-5+ years in customs brokerage, trade compliance, or international logistics </li><li>Solid working knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations </li><li>Proven ability to research an issue and document clear conclusions </li><li>Strong writing and communication skills </li><li>Comfortable working with clients and senior leaders </li></ul> <p>Nice to Have</p> <ul> <li>Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) </li><li>Experience with audits, post-entry corrections, or CBP inquiries </li><li>Background in a brokerage or 3PL environment </li><li>Interest in pursuing LCB licensure if not already held </li></ul> <p>Why This Role Matters</p> <p>This isn't routine paperwork.
