<p>Compliance Inspector - Fats, Oils, and Grease (FOG)</p> <p>$20.58/hour; 40 hours/week</p> <p>Closing Date: Until Filled</p> <ul> <li>Must possess "A" Water Distribution System Operator certification </li><li>Requires an Associate's degree, vocational technical degree, or specialized training that is equivalent to satisfactory completion of two (2) years of college education with emphasis in plumbing, utility maintenance, plan review, or a related field, supplemented by five (5) years of utility operations experience, some of which has been in install, inspection and/or maintenance of plumbing </li><li>Valid South Carolina driver's license </li></ul> <p>This position works towards reducing the risk of Sanitary Sewer Overflows (SSO) by determining sources of FOG generated by local food service establishments (FSE), apartment complexes and residential neighborhoods. Conduct regular inspections and sampling of all FSE to ensure they are performing routine maintenance of their Grease Control Devices (GCD) and are using best management practices (BMP) to minimize the opportunity for FOG or other debris to enter the city sewer system. Pass out educational materials when problem areas are discovered and assist with enforcement action as necessary. The CMOM Compliance Inspector - FOG works within a general outline of work to be performed and develops work methods and sequences under general supervision. Work includes the coordination of the FOG program and other functions of the Compliance Group, exhibiting professional customer service, and assisting other divisions and departmental staff as needed.
