Certified CS/SPD Technicians receive ample support, training and education, including learning how to operate the latest, state-of-the-art processing equipment and using the newest sterilization tools and concepts. By taking on this role, you will have a major impact on patient care by helping to ensure the safety and health of the patient.</p> <p>A caregiver in this role works days from 6:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.</p> <p>A caregiver who excels in this role will:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Be responsible for the safe, efficient practices for decontamination, instrument assembly, wrapping and sterilization of all reprocessed instruments, equipment distribution and case care management.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform case pull functions.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrate proper handling of equipment, instrumentation and chemicals while adhering to preventative maintenance schedules and personal protective equipment (PPE) standards during the decontamination process.</p> </li><li> <p>Scan, sort and inspect instruments for functionality and cleanliness.</p> </li><li> <p>Assemble, wrap and label instruments.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure proper cleaning, decontamination, assembly and high-level disinfection of reusable instrumentation in accordance with AAMI ST79 standards.</p> </li><li> <p>Monitor and control the distribution of supplies and equipment.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform recordkeeping functions, such as processing, sterilization and quality assurance.</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in in-service education.</p> </li><li> <p>Build case carts using electronic preference cards and dispatch them to appropriate locations.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform preceptor duties and assist in educating non-certified technicians.</p> </li></ul> <p>Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:</p> <ul> <li> <p>High School Diploma or GED</p> </li><li> <p>Two to five years of experience in central service/sterile processing areas</p> </li><li> <p>Sterile Processing certification (e.g., CRCST, CSPDT, CFER, or CER)</p> </li><li> <p>Completion of a recognized training program with certification in central service/sterile processing</p> </li><li> <p>Proficient in using computerized instrument tracking systems</p> </li><li> <p>Military experience, such as Hospital Corpsmen (HM), Machinery Repairman (MR), Aircraft Maintenance Technician (2A3X3), Biomedical Equipment Specialist (68A), Small Arms Repairer (91F), or similar, will be considered</p> </li></ul> <p>Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:</p> <ul> <li>Basic computer skills </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting items that weigh 20-30 pounds.</p> </li><li> <p>Requires the ability to push a fully loaded cart weighing up to 200+ pounds.</p> </li><li> <p>Possible exposure to biological and chemical contamination.</p> </li><li> <p>Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.</p> </li><li> <p>Requires corrected vision and hearing to within normal range.</p> </li></ul> <p>Personal Protective Equipment:</p> <ul> <li>Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required. </li></ul> <p>Pay Range</p> <p>Minimum hourly: $21.50</p> <p>Maximum hourly: $29.50</p> <p>The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires.
