<p>This is an adjunct position teaching freshman level writing courses at Blue Ridge CTC.</p> <p>On the assigned days/times, the adjunct will teach English Composition I, English Composition II, and/or technical writing courses. This load may include in-person, hybrid, and/or online classes with day and evening course assignments. In-person course assignments can include courses at any campus location. </p> <p>In addition to teaching, instructor must assure availability to students outside of class, track and enter weekly attendance via BRIDGE, meet deadlines for accurate submission of midterm and final grades via BRIDGE, and enroll students in Blackboard for the purpose of end-of-semester course evaluation and/or curriculum assessment. </p> <p>Education</p> <p>Qualified candidates must have 18 credits or more of master's level English. </p> <p>Experience</p> <p>Two or more semesters or quarters of high school or college level English composition teaching are preferred. </p> <p>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities</p> <p>Preference is given to applicants with experience in high school, community college, or university teaching of English as well as familiarity with the Blackboard platform. </p> <p>This is a continuous job posting to establish a qualified pool of adjuncts on an as needed basis semester to semester. </p> <p> </p> <p>Adjunct pay dependent on degree level.</p> <p>Blue Ridge Community and Technical College is an equal opportunity institution and does not discriminate based on race, color, national origin, sex, pregnancy, age, disability, or religion in admission, employment, or educational programs and activities; nor does it discriminate based on genetic information in employment or employee health benefits.
