<p>Associated Grocers is seeking an experienced and results-driven Category Manager - Meat & Seafood to lead category performance, maximize sales and profitability, and support the evolving needs of our retailers. Other duties may be assigned.</p> <ul> <li>Negotiate cost and recommend item, price and quantity needs for all promotional activities. </li><li>Monitor vendor price list and initiate price changes. </li><li>Meet with vendors to discuss new items, deal sheets, price changes and slow moving items. </li><li>Analyze categories for correct product mix. </li><li>Evaluate slow moving items for discontinuing. </li><li>Responsible for procuring and managing the inventory and service levels to meet the needs of the customer and corporate goals. </li><li>Manages freight operations by collaborating with vendors and the internal freight management team to ensure efficient, cost-effective logistics. </li><li>Monitor inventory positions and ensure corporate turn goals met. </li><li>Work with retail merchandising team to increase sales through current merchandising programs or new programs </li><li>Assist in food show and seminar preparations. </li><li>Assist Retailers with problems. </li><li>Visit stores to improve communication and awareness of retailers' needs. </li><li>Monitor category profits and sales to meet company goals. </li><li>Work closely with operations personnel to positively impact overall corporate results. </li></ul> <p>Education and/or Experience</p> <p>A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required, along with computer skills (Excel, Word), knowledge of perishable meat and seafood products, strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills, and a clean driving record.</p> <p>Computer Skills</p> <p>To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and preferably how to use Copilot 365.</p> <p>Certificates, Licenses, Registrations</p> <p>Maintain an appropriate motor vehicle record.</p> <p>Other Skills and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of meat/seafood perishable products and markets </li><li>Outstanding negotiation skills </li><li>Good communication and organizational skills </li><li>Operate harmoniously and cooperatively with others within and outside of department.
