<p>Job Summary and Responsibilities</p> <p>As our Driver, you will safely and courteously transport seniors and mobility-impaired persons, and/or deliver bulk and Home Delivered Meals, adhering to our facility guidelines.</p> <p>Every day you will conduct daily vehicle inspections, maintain sanitation, report repairs, and efficiently fulfill daily assignments under direct supervision.</p> <p>To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate commitment to safety, efficiency, and exceptional customer service, with strong attention to detail for vehicle maintenance and regulatory compliance.</p> <ul> <li>Drives vehicle from facility to shopping, doctor's office, place of worship or other destination according to assigned schedule. </li><li>Assists passengers into and out of vehicle. </li><li>Operates radio, cell phone or similar device to communicate with facility or other vehicles to report disruption of service. Updates residents, etc, as needed. </li><li>Makes extended trips requiring irregular hours. </li><li>Picks up residents in response to radio or telephone relayed request for service. </li><li>Assists passengers with purchases. </li><li>Ensures sufficient number of walkers are available in vehicle. </li></ul> <p>Job Requirements</p> <p>Required</p> <ul> <li> <p>High School Diploma or GED</p> </li><li> <p>Two years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience</p> </li><li> <p>Current and valid CA Commercial Class B driver's license with Passenger Endorsement - required if driving a passenger transportation vehicle designed to carry more than 10 passengers, including driver.</p> </li><li> <p>First Aid, within 90 Days</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to speak effectively with residents and staff.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to demonstrate basic math skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to follow instructions and demonstrate good judgment and problem solving skills.</p> </li></ul> <p>Where You'll Work</p> <p>Dominican Oaks is a beautiful 206-apartment retirement community located in a quiet, wooded setting behind Dominican Santa Cruz Hospital where we have served our community for over 25 years.
