Our highly qualified educators and staff members work to provide personalized attention and support to ensure that every student thrives.</p> <p>Summary:</p> <p>Provides direct occupational therapy services for students with special education needs and coordinate individual programs with students, staff, administrators, and parents.</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Hold appropriate license from the Massachusetts Board of Registration of Allied Health Professionals as an Occupational Therapist</p> </li><li> <p>Preferred Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy or related field</p> </li><li> <p>Experience in delivering occupational therapy services in the public school setting; and</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated ability to perform the responsibilities below as evidenced by course work, educational experience, school-level involvement and/or system-wide professional activities, and the interview process.</p> </li></ol> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Evaluate and assess students referred for special education eligibility determination</p> </li><li> <p>Develop and implement effective programs of intervention for students with special education needs</p> </li><li> <p>Develop IEP goals, benchmarks and assessment methods to monitor a student's progress in the educational area identified requiring intervention</p> </li><li> <p>Work collaboratively with all building liaisons, principals and teachers to determine eligibility, need for level, and/or continuation of occupational therapy service</p> </li><li> <p>Carefully monitor student progress toward achievement of goals, and effectively communicate to the TEAM termination of services where appropriate</p> </li><li> <p>Develop programs for efficiently delivering occupational therapy services and managing available resources</p> </li><li> <p>Keep thorough and confidential records for the individual students receiving occupational therapy</p> </li><li> <p>Consult with parents classroom teachers, and other staff as needed</p> </li><li> <p>Participate at team meetings where students have been recommended for or are currently receiving occupational therapy services</p> </li><li> <p>Perform all other duties as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools or designee</p> </li></ol> <p>EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER</p> <p>Weymouth Public Schools is committed to maintaining a work and learning environment free from discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, pregnancy, gender, sexual orientation, marital/civil union status, ancestry, place of birth, age, citizenship status, veteran status, political affiliation or disability, as defined and required by state and federal laws.</p>
