<p>Description</p> <p>This Drafter position participates in and may lead modeling and detailing projects of moderate to high complexity. Creates detailed drawings in 3D models, assemblies, and 2D drawings of intermediate to high complexity using 3D CAD Software tools (SolidWorks).</p> <p>This drafter works within a project team-under the leadership of engineers, technicians and/or project managers. This drafter is expected to work and communicate well with other team members and leadership as assigned in order to meet the goals of the project, the department and the company.</p> <p>Primary job duties include:</p> <ul> <li>Perform all work in compliance with company policy and within the guidelines of BioFire Diagnostics' Quality System. </li><li>Create accurate intermediate to highly complex 3D models, assemblies according to project specific inputs and requirements using SolidWorks. </li><li>Create manufacturing drawings of assemblies and models including GD&T and BOM information. </li><li>Interpreting intermediate to highly complex 2D drawings and layouts for migration into a 3D environment. </li><li>Utilizes engineering concepts, company SOPs/WIDs, department SOPs/WIDs, and other sources, e.g. part catalogs, to find additional data to assist in a variety of technical tasks. </li><li>Communicate with internal and external customers and team members regarding project scope, change requests and milestone completions. May make recommendations to solve issues. </li><li>Mentor less experienced drafters. </li><li>Works effectively in a cross-functional environment offering any assistance necessary to complete the end product. </li><li>Produce a wide range of engineering, cable and harness, or mechanical drawings for mechanical equipment under the guidance of engineers and management. </li><li>Monitor schedule constraints on all work. Complete assignments on time and on schedule. </li><li>Maintains sets of drawings, drawing changes, and reports for projects as assigned. </li><li>Make decisions concerning personal time management and task prioritization to deliver quality service. </li><li>Must be comfortable receiving feedback and making adjustments to projects in real time. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Additional information about this position:</p> <ul> <li>Travel: minimal travel required. </li><li>Team: Supports and works on a team with several engineers and a project manager. </li></ul> <p>Education and Experience Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Associate's degree in Drafting or related technical field required and seven years of experience in drafting or related drafting role OR a High School Diploma and nine years of experience in drafting or related drafting role </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, special skills and/or abilities required to perform the job functions (e.g., negotiation, technical writing; statistical evaluation).</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrated ability to identify problems, make recommendations and work effectively in a team environment to resolve them while considering the impact on the rest of the company. </li><li>Ability to respond in a flexible manner and to reprioritize work as the situation demands. </li><li>Must possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. </li><li>Ability to create intermediate to complex technical drawings under the direction of Engineers and senior drafters. </li><li>Proficient with the operation of SolidWorks. </li><li>Strong understanding of (GD&T) nomenclature and conventional symbols of structural, mechanical and engineering drawings and how to incorporate in drawings. </li><li>Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other drafters as well as other department personnel. </li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. </li><li>Ability to effectively manage time and meet deadlines. </li><li>Ability to positively receive and incorporate feedback and constructive criticism. </li></ul> <p>#LI-US</p>
