<p>Instructor/Assistant Professor (CNA, PCT, EKG, Phlebotomy, Medical Assisting)</p> <p>Salary: $45,000-$50,000/year</p> <p>Job Summary:</p> <p>We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Full-Time Allied Health Instructor to teach and support students in Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Patient Care Technician (PCT), EKG Technician, Phlebotomy, and Medical Assistant programs. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for education, a strong clinical background, and the ability to foster student success in both classroom and clinical settings. This position requires flexibility for evening classes and a collaborative approach to teaching. This would be a 10 month non-tenure track, term faculty position.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Provide classroom, lab, and clinical instruction in CNA, PCT, EKG, Phlebotomy, and Medical Assisting courses. </li><li>Teach a full course load of 15 credit hours or equivalent. </li><li>Develop and update lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments that align with course objectives and state/national standards. </li><li>Utilize a variety of teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and promote student engagement. </li><li>Supervise students during clinical rotations, ensuring compliance with safety and ethical standards. </li><li>Evaluate student performance through practical and written examinations and provide timely, constructive feedback. </li><li>Maintain accurate student records, including attendance, grades, and clinical evaluations. </li><li>Collaborate with other faculty and staff to support program goals and student retention. </li><li>Stay current with industry trends, licensure requirements, and continuing education to ensure instructional quality. </li><li>Assist with program development, curriculum review, accreditation preparation, and student advising as needed. </li><li>Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and institutional events. </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Licensure:</p> </li><li> <p>Valid, active, and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment.</p> </li><li> <p>Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) credential or relevant experience in phlebotomy techniques.</p> </li><li> <p>Education:</p> </li><li> <p>Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience:</p> </li><li> <p>Minimum of 5-10 years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting.</p> </li><li> <p>At least 1 year of experience in long-term care (nursing home or assisted living).</p> </li><li> <p>Prior teaching or supervisory experience strongly preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Additional Competencies:</p> </li><li> <p>Proficiency in basic computer skills and use of electronic health records (EHR).</p> </li><li> <p>Strong verbal and written communication skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to effectively demonstrate and explain hands-on clinical procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Understanding of adult learning principles and varied teaching strategies.</p> </li><li> <p>Willingness to complete continuing education and instructor certification courses if required.</p> </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Experience teaching CNA, PCT, EKG, Phlebotomy, or Medical Assisting students. </li><li>Experience with simulation-based instruction or learning management systems (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard). </li><li>Certification in instructional methodology (such as Train-the-Trainer for CNA programs). </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands:</p> <p>This position may require prolonged standing, lifting up to 50 pounds, assisting students with physical demonstrations, and travel to clinical sites.</p> <p>Work Environment:</p> <p>Instruction occurs in classroom, lab, and clinical environments. Evening and occasional weekend hours may be required based on course scheduling.</p>
