<p>The Admissions Counselor plays a key role in ensuring prospective students are at the heart of everything we do at Excelsior University. As a dedicated consultant, this position focuses on building meaningful relationships with prospective students, understanding their individual goals, and guiding them towards the online degree program that best fits their needs and aspirations.</p> <p>The Admissions Counselor is committed to creating a welcoming, supportive environment where students feel valued and empowered at every step of the admissions process. By building trust and rapport, the Admissions Counselor ensures students feel confident, informed, and motivated as they navigate their educational journey. This role is central to helping students understand and successfully complete the enrollment process, and ensuring they feel a sense of belonging within the Excelsior University community.</p> <p>The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering outstanding service, focused on student success, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing lead outreach and follow-up effectively.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Student-Centered Service: Provide exceptional, personalized service to prospective students, ensuring they feel supported, understood, and motivated throughout the entire admissions process. </li><li>Relationship Building: Utilize strong interpersonal skills to develop deep, trusting relationships with prospective students. Use thoughtful questioning techniques to uncover each student's unique goals, challenges, and motivations, and help them find the best fit in Excelsior University's online degree offerings. </li><li>Guidance and Support: Actively guide prospective students through the enrollment process, offering timely advice, detailed explanations, and clarity about next steps. Ensure that students are prepared and confident as they move forward in their journey. </li><li>Engagement and Follow-Up: Regularly check in with prospective students to ensure they have the resources and information needed to stay on track and make informed decisions. Provide check-in touchpoints to prevent cancellations and ensure ongoing engagement. </li><li>Clear Communication: Communicate the features and benefits of Excelsior University's programs in an engaging, clear, and concise manner to help students understand the value and fit of their academic options. </li><li>Enrollment Process Management: Manage the enrollment cycle for prospective students, ensuring that deadlines and deliverables are communicated effectively and that students are motivated to complete their admissions process in a timely manner. </li><li>Adaptability in a Fast-Paced Environment: Maintain a high level of service delivery across multiple communication channels, including phone, email, and chat, while staying organized in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. </li><li>Continuous Learning: Participate in regular training to master Excelsior University's academic offerings, policies, and student services, and apply this knowledge in a way that fosters a transformative experience for prospective students. </li><li>Credit and Program Knowledge: Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the various methods of earning credit, the application process, tuition, and program-specific eligibility requirements to effectively advise students. Explain and discuss the process for evaluating previously earned credits, ensuring students understand the implications of their transfer credits as they prepare for enrollment. </li><li>Proficiency with Systems: Become proficient in using the university's Student Information System (SIS), CRM, and telephony systems to track and manage prospective student information and ensure smooth communication throughout the enrollment process. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree from regionally accredited College or University or 2 years of admissions related experience. </li><li>Minimum of one-year experience in a Communication Center preferred. </li><li>Ability to maintain a positive attitude in a high-energy office and manage multiple tasks and deadlines. </li><li>Ability to master and assimilate a large amount of information about academic offerings with accuracy and detail </li><li>Strong communication skills, preferably in Spanish and English, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate will have experience with college admissions programs and demonstrate an interest in promoting distance learning higher education to a diverse adult student population. </li><li>Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment. </li><li>The ideal candidate will have experience with college admissions programs and demonstrate an interest in promoting distance learning higher education to a diverse adult student population. </li><li>This is a full-time (37.5 hours per week), 12-month, benefits-eligible position. The required office hours may include different shifts spanning 8:30 am to 8:00 pm. </li><li>These hours are subject to change based on the needs of the college and our students. </li></ul> <p>The hiring salary range for this position is $46,000.00 - $48,185.00. The hiring salary range above represents the University's good faith estimate at the time of posting.</p>
