<p>Position: Product Design Engineer V</p> <p>Location: Cupertino, California</p> <p>Duration: Contract</p> <p>Job ID: 169283</p> <p>Job Overview:</p> <p>As a Contract Product Design FEA Engineer, you will leverage your expertise in mechanics, materials, and numerical methods to play a pivotal role in predictive engineering. Your contributions will directly impact the success of innovative products. You will drive the structural design of new products using predictive system-level finite element simulation, including building and running system-level models for critical design load cases. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional design teams to iterate and enhance product designs.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Set up and run simple to complex system FEA simulations. </li><li>Postprocess large volumes of simulation data. </li><li>Summarize and present FEA simulation results to Product Design Engineers. </li><li>Provide recommendations for design improvements and iterate on designs quickly and collaboratively. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Proficiency in Abaqus, including implicit and explicit finite element analysis (FEA). </li><li>Strong knowledge of solid mechanics. </li><li>Excellent cross-functional collaboration and written/verbal communication skills. </li><li>Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a passion for creating cutting-edge products. </li><li>MS in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mechanics, or a related discipline, with 3+ years of relevant experience. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Experience with ANSA and META. </li><li>Expertise in system-level modeling and simulation. </li><li>Experience in IC packaging, board-level solder joint reliability, shock, and thermal cycling. </li><li>Knowledge of the mechanical behavior of materials and constitutive modeling. </li><li>PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mechanics, Material Science, or a related discipline. </li></ul> <p>About PTR Global: PTR Global is a leading provider of information technology and workforce solutions.
