<p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>High school diploma or GED. At least 18 years of age. Must be able to work rotating shifts including weekends and holidays and be available to work 24/7 during emergency activations. Must obtain a 911 Public Safety Telecommunication Certification within the one year probationary period and maintain it throughout the employee s career. * Preferences: Associates or Bachelor's degree in Applied Science in Emergency Communications or related degree, Computer Aided Dispatch experience, and a 911 Public Safety Telecommunication Certification are preferred.</p> <p>Tests Required</p> <p>PLEASE READ THIS JOB POSTING FOR IMPORTANT TEST INFORMATION FOR FIRE RESCUE DISPATCHER.</p> <p>APPLICATION PROCESS</p> <p>Applicants must apply online at www.miamidade.gov from Monday, December 15, 2025 through Monday, January 12, 2026. If you do not receive the auto-generated email, your application has not been submitted, and you must log into e-Jobs again, and click on the submit button prior to the closing date.</p> <p>COMPUTER SKILLS TEST</p> <p>Applicants must take and pass a typing test with a score of 25 net words per minute, and then immediately take and pass a computer-based skills test which will assess the ability to follow verbal and written instructions, decision making, multi-tasking audio data entry, 911 call summarization, character comparison, and reading comprehension. The test will take approximately one hour. Photo identification, such as a driver's license, is required and must be presented to take the computer skills test.</p> <p>After the job posting closes, applications will be screened for eligibility, and only those who meet the minimum qualifications will be notified via the email address provided in your online employment application. Those applicants who successfully complete the background investigation will be administered a psychological evaluation to determine suitability and compatibility to perform the basic job functions.
