This individual will assist with recruiting participants, organizing and providing training, conducting assessments, writing manuscripts, and grant applications, conducting relevant literature reviews, and making professional presentations. This position is established in support of expanded activities and projects.</p> <p>Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience</p> <p>Requires a Doctoral (Ph.D.) degree in area of research specialty prior to the start date</p> <p>Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Doctoral degree prior to the start date in school, clinical, or experimental psychology or a related discipline, as well as advanced clinical and research training. </li><li>In-depth training in developmental assessment with infants and/or young children and their families is required and autism diagnostics is preferred. </li><li>Reliability on the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule </li></ul> <p>Knowledge/Skills/Abilities</p> <ul> <li>In-depth training in assessment with infants and young children with neurodevelopmental disorders; experience with statistical modeling; </li><li>Experience in scientific manuscript and grant writing; excellent written and spoken communication skills. </li></ul> <p>Job Duties</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>Administer developmental and behavioral assessments to infants and young children with neurodevelopmental disorders and neurotypical controls to support NIH-funded research on early detection of autism and autonomic dysfunction. This work is conducted to generate high-quality, standardized data that advances understanding of early developmental indicators and informs research outcomes. The postdoctoral fellow fulfills this responsibility by implementing assessments in accordance with established protocols within the Neurodevelopmental Disorders Lab, traveling across South Carolina and the United States to reach diverse participant populations, and supporting participant recruitment efforts as needed to ensure adequate and representative study enrollment.</p> <p>Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 40 Job Duty</p> <p>Provide leadership in training and mentorship within the Neurodevelopmental Disorders Lab to ensure high-quality research implementation and professional development of team members. This work is done to maintain standardized, ethical, and rigorous research practices while fostering the growth of trainees and staff. The postdoctoral fellow accomplishes this by training team members to administer behavioral, cognitive, and physiological assessments, guiding proper data management procedures aligned with lab protocols and IRB standards, and mentoring graduate students and lab personnel in scientific writing, publication processes, and the dissemination of research findings.</p> <p>Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 25 Job Duty</p> <p>Contribute to the dissemination and advancement of research conducted in the Neurodevelopmental Disorders Lab through data analysis, scholarly writing, and professional presentations. This work is done to support the development of evidence-based knowledge, secure research funding, and share findings with the scientific community. The postdoctoral fellow carries out these responsibilities by assisting with statistical analyses, co-authoring manuscripts for peer-reviewed publications, developing grant applications, and preparing and delivering presentations at academic conferences based on ongoing lab activities.</p> <p>Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 20 Job Duty</p> <p>Conduct pre- and post-assessment activities to support the efficient implementation of research protocols within the Neurodevelopmental Disorders Lab. This work is done to ensure accurate data collection, timely processing, and clear communication of findings to support ongoing NIH-funded research. The postdoctoral fellow carries out these responsibilities by coordinating and scheduling participant assessments, organizing and processing collected data, and summarizing results into concise feedback reports in accordance with standardized lab procedures.</p> <p>Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 10 Job Duty</p> <p>Follow and ensure compliance with federal, state, and university policies and procedures.
