<p>JOB SUMMARY:</p> <p>Prepares illustrations and writes text for manuals and other documents dealing with the installation, operation, maintenance, and/or repair of Midmark's products for consumers, service technicians, distributors, dealers, and/or Midmark's own Technical Service department. May also include contextual help, release notes and knowledge base articles for digital product offerings. Performs work under the direction of Manager of Technical Publications, or other Midmark technical manager.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL/PRIMARY DUTIES:</p> <ul> <li>Produces concise, professional, written instructions for user guides, setup sheets, service manuals and related documents. Familiar with print, electronic and embedded formats. </li><li>Produces clear, readable, technical illustrations that enhance user guides, setup sheets, service manuals and related documents. </li><li>Demonstrates technical publication standards with quality and consistency in assigned projects. </li><li>Maintains content of Technical Library web site. </li><li>Research engineering changes and product history through Bills of Materials, Engineering drawings, CO's knowledge base articles, feature documentation, acceptance criteria or other product documentation. </li><li>Develops collaborative cross functional relationships that drive engineering project completion. </li><li>Meets responsibilities within Midmark's delivery and change control processes. </li></ul> <p>SECONDARY DUTIES:</p> <ul> <li>Creates supporting material such as service or tutorial video, online content, or art production for posters, flyers, etc. </li><li>Performs miscellaneous writing tasks. </li><li>Other duties as needed. </li></ul> <p>EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:</p> <p>2-year degree in technical writing, communications, technical illustration, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.</p> <p>COMPETENCY and/or SKILL:</p> <ul> <li>Attention to detail, with proficiency in correcting grammar and the ability to write for different reading levels </li><li>Ability to apply problem-solving skills to identify root causes and offer solutions </li><li>Ability to interact productively with people at all levels of the organization </li><li>Ability to function without close supervision and as part of a broader team </li><li>Proficiency in graphics and desktop publishing software </li><li>Proficiency in project tracking methods or tools used by team </li><li>Familiarity with content management systems and/or HTML beneficial </li></ul> <p>SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Provides leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to the co-op group. </li></ul>
