<p>Job Title: Varsity Hockey Coach</p> <p>Location: Pentucket Regional Middle School</p> <p>Reports To: Athletic Director and Principal</p> <p>FLSA Status: Stipend Position</p> <p>Season: Winter</p> <p>Position Overview:</p> <p>The Varsity Hockey Coach is responsible for assisting in the development of a competitive and educational hockey program for middle and high school athletes. The coach will promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth while reinforcing the educational mission of the school.</p> <p>Required Clearances:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Verified CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information) check through the Massachusetts Department of Criminal Justice Information Services (DCJIS).</p> </li><li> <p>Fingerprint-based national background check through the Massachusetts Statewide Applicant Fingerprint Identification Services (SAFIS).</p> </li><li> <p>All background checks must be successfully completed prior to the start of coaching duties.</p> </li></ul> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Plan and conduct practices focused on skill development, fitness, and teamwork. </li><li>Provide appropriate supervision and safety of student-athletes at all times. </li><li>Encourage academic achievement, character development, and personal responsibility among athletes. </li><li>Maintain effective communication with students, parents/guardians, school staff, and the athletic department. </li><li>Ensure compliance with MIAA rules and school district policies. </li><li>Organize equipment and uniforms and report inventory needs. </li><li>Attend required coaches' meetings, training, and school events as applicable. </li><li>Perform all duties/responsibilities assigned by the Director of Athletics </li><li>Work with community members who are involved in youth hockey </li><li>Directly supervise squad members at home and away contests </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Previous coaching or playing experience in hockey, preferably at the high school or club level.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to serve as a positive role model and mentor to student-athletes.</p> </li><li> <p>CPR, First Aid, and Concussion Certification (or willingness to complete before the season starts).</p> </li><li> <p>Completion of NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching (preferred or required by state).</p> </li></ul> <p>Stipend:</p> <ul> <li>This is a stipend position in accordance with the district's collective bargaining agreement or approved athletic pay schedule. </li></ul> <p>Positions Available: 1</p> <p>Equal Opportunity Employer</p> <p><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong>____</strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></p> <p>Pentucket Regional School District is committed to maintaining a work and learning environment free from discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, pregnancy, gender identity, sexual orientation, marital/civil union status, ancestry, place of birth, age, citizenship status, veteran status, political affiliation, genetic information or disability, as defined and required by state and federal laws.
