<p>Western Nebraska Community College (WNCC) is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Adjunct Instructor in Electrical Trades to teach courses that prepare both high school and community college students for careers in the electrical industry. This role is vital in helping address the current shortage of skilled laborers in the electrical trades by providing students with practical, hands-on learning and foundational knowledge. The instructor will inspire and guide students toward success in their chosen career pathway while ensuring a safe, supportive, and engaging classroom and lab environment.</p> <p>Job duties may include:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Teaching electrical trades courses to dual-credit high school students and WNCC college students.</p> </li><li> <p>Developing lesson plans and delivering instruction based on industry standards, safety protocols, and program outcomes.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrating proper use of electrical tools, equipment, and materials.</p> </li><li> <p>Incorporating both classroom and lab-based, hands-on instruction to support student learning.</p> </li><li> <p>Assessing student progress through assignments, projects, and practical evaluations.</p> </li><li> <p>Providing students with guidance on career pathways and opportunities in the electrical trades industry.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborating with WNCC faculty, staff, and industry partners to align curriculum with workforce needs.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintaining a safe, organized, and inclusive learning environment.</p> </li><li> <p>Other duties as assigned by the Division Chair or Academic Affairs.</p> </li><li> <p>Licensed journeyman or master electrician (or equivalent credential).</p> </li><li> <p>Minimum of three years of professional work experience in the electrical trades.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong knowledge of safety codes, industry standards, and electrical systems.</p> </li><li> <p>Effective communication skills and ability to connect with students of varying backgrounds.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work in lab settings for extended periods.</p> </li><li> <p>Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds as needed for demonstrations and lab activities.</p> </li><li> <p>Flexible scheduling may include daytime, evening, or occasional weekend instruction based on program needs.</p> </li><li> <p>This is a part-time adjunct position. Employment is semester-to-semester, with no guaranteed continuation beyond the contracted term. </p> </li></ul>
