<p>CHILDCARE GROUP LEADER - Crown Sports Center</p> <p>Sports Facilities Management, LLC</p> <p>LOCATION: Fruitland, MD</p> <p>DEPARTMENT: CHILDCARE</p> <p>REPORTS TO: CHILDCARE MANAGER</p> <p>STATUS: FULL-TIME (NON-EXEMPT)</p> <p>ABOUT THE COMPANY:</p> <p>Crown Sports Center is a premier sport, recreation and entertainment destination focused on improving the health and economic vitality of Fruitland, Maryland. We are growing rapidly and looking for high performers at every level to grow with us.</p> <p>POSTION SUMMARY:</p> <p>The Childcare Group Leader will lead activities of daily child programs such as monitoring, safekeeping, and enforcing daily operations while providing excellent customer service. This position starts as a Childcare Team Member and once minimum training requirements have been met, transitions to a Childcare Group Leader. Training and certification assistance will be provided by Crown Sports Center at no cost to the Team Member so long as one year of employment is achieved. There will be a separate agreement provided at the time an offer is made.</p> <p>PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:</p> <ul> <li>Assist children while they engage in group and individual sports activities </li><li>Maintain a safe and clean work environment </li><li>Oversee morning drop-off and check-in as well as afternoon pick-up and sign-out </li><li>Assist other counselors/coaches with any other duties as assigned by Childcare Manager </li><li>Maintain effective discipline and safety procedures during child activities </li><li>Transport children to and from school </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Must be 19 years of age or older </li><li>Have a high school diploma or certificate of high school equivalence </li><li>1 year of college or a combination of experience and college together that are equivalent to 1 year preferred </li><li>Flexible work schedule and regular attendance is necessary </li><li>Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written </li><li>Ability to maintain focus in a high-volume, fast-paced environment </li><li>Must be detail-orientated and have outstanding organizational skills </li><li>Ability to multitask and prioritize </li><li>Ability to remain calm and focused in difficult and stressful situations </li><li>Proficient with Microsoft Office tools and be comfortable using a computer </li></ul> <p>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS DURING EMPLOYMENT:</p> <ul> <li>3 clock hours of approved training in Americans with Disabilities Act compliance </li><li>Basic health and safety training </li><li>6 semester hours or 90 clock hours of approved preservice training </li><li>9 clock hours of approved preservice training in communicating with staff, parents, and the public, or at least one academic college course for credit </li><li>400 hours of experience working under supervision primarily with school age children in a licensed care center, public or private school, or similar setting </li></ul> <p>ONGOING REQUIREMENTS ANNUALLY:</p> <ul> <li> <p>12 clock hours per full year of employment as a childcare teacher that consists of;</p> </li><li> <p>Minimum of 6 clock hours of core knowledge training and</p> </li><li> <p>Maximum of 6 clock hours of elective training</p> </li><li> <p>Health & Safety training</p> </li></ul> <p>WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:</p> <ul> <li>Must be able to lift 40 pounds waist high </li><li>Will be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time whether indoors or outdoors, and squat, stoop, or bend </li><li>Must be able to identify problems and/or hazards and resolve or report to management </li><li>Must comply with safety and health code standards </li><li>Facility has intermittent noise </li><li>Able to run/walk as needed </li></ul>
