<p>Position Visiting Assistant Professor, Theatre Department Theatre Job Classification(s): The following positions will be considered for this opening.</p> <p>Please use the links below to open job description(s) in a NEW WINDOW.</p> <ul> <li>Assistant Professor </li></ul> <p>Starting Date August 2025 Closing Date When Filled Responsibilities Requirements</p> <p>The Fain College of Fine Arts at Midwestern State University invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Theatre - Voice, to begin August of 2025. This is a non-tenure track, nine month contract. Midwestern State University is an associate member of NAST and a full member of COPLAC and offers a full undergraduate curriculum in theatre programs.</p> <p>Description: Voice Specialist, full-time, non-tenure track faculty position as Visiting Assistant Professor of Theatre. Duties include a twelve-hour teaching load each semester serving as instructor of voice techniques, musical theatre and singing. In addition, this position may also serve as director/musical director/vocal coach/intimacy coach or mentor for departmental productions. Other classes or duties may be assigned, commensurate with experience and/or departmental needs. Other duties include assess students, hold office hours, mentor students, recruiting, establishing strong working relationships with colleagues, and representing the Theatre Department on and off campus.</p> <p>Terminal degree in theatre, performance studies or a related field required. Experience and/or certifications in singing and voice training required. Applicants experienced in directing, acting and theatre history are encouraged to apply. Functional piano skills to accompany preferred.</p> <p>Standard Requirements</p> <p>Requires the ability to maintain positive working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and the community. Personal cell phone usage may be required to complete position duties, including multi-function authentication requirements. Regular reliable attendance is required.</p> <p>This position is designated as security sensitive (Mod) and requires a criminal background check. Position is designated as a Responsible Employee as outlined by Title IX.
