Founded in 1914, the UMFA is the State of Utah's official museum, creating exhibitions and programs which serve a wide array of audiences. The Museum is located in the award-winning Marcia and John Price Museum Building.</p> <p>A position as a Museum Visitor Services Specialist is a great opportunity for those looking to further their experience in customer service, communications, and community outreach as well as for those looking to become more familiar and involved with the museum world in general. Our Visitors Service Representatives are responsible for delivering excellent customer service while welcoming guests to the Museum, maintaining knowledge of exhibitions, events, Museum departments, processing transactions accurately, guiding visitors in the right direction as questions arise, and properly facilitating our public programs.</p> <p>This position is less than 20 hours per week and may require weekends and some evenings.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>Provides excellent customer service to Museum guests</p> <p>a. Greets each guest with a friendly face and helpful attitude</p> <p>b. Ability to multi-task and prioritize</p> <p>c. Accurately process transactions</p> <p>d. Answers phone and responds to voicemail</p> <p>Demonstrates museum knowledge</p> <p>a. Responsible for general knowledge of Museum operations and departments</p> <p>b. Awareness of current exhibitions and programs and understanding about works in our permanent collection</p> <p>c. Receives updates via email, reviews general calendar and responds to email correspondence</p> <p>d. Proficient in selling memberships and member benefits</p> <p>e. Assist customers with calendar, exhibition, program and event questions</p> <p>Maintains a team player attitude</p> <p>a. Accomplish opening and closing tasks both independently and in small teams</p> <p>b. Receive deliveries; check for accuracy and approve packing slips</p> <p>c. Restock/check inventory levels of products and supplies</p> <p>d. Remove all trash and food debris daily</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor's degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).</p> <p>Customer Service Representative, I: Requires little to no related experience.</p> <p>Preferences</p> <p>A successful candidate possesses exceptional customer service skills, is a self-starter with a dedication to quality, presentation and cleanliness.
