<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Campus Title: Adjunct Instructor, Wastewater Operator Pre-Certification Courses</p> <p>Budget Title: Adjunct</p> <p>Salary Range: $50.00/hour</p> <p>Duration: Fall Semester (with the possibility of future semesters)</p> <p>Brief Description of Duties:</p> <p>SUNY Morrisville seeks candidates for the position of Instructor to teach Wastewater Operator Pre-Certification courses for our Environmental Training Center!</p> <p>The instructor shall be responsible for course preparation and teaching the following:</p> <ul> <li>Prepare training and teaching materials and appropriate assessments </li><li>Administering pre-certification courses for Wastewater Operators. </li><li>Wastewater Operator courses include Basic Operations of Wastewater Treatment, Basic Laboratory Procedures, Activated Sludge Process Control, Grade 3 Supervision and Technical Operations, Grade 4 Management, and a Review Course for the ABC Exam. </li><li>Managing laboratory safety and operating procedures </li><li>Supporting off campus tours/worksites to adhere to curriculum </li><li>Field sampling and preparing BOD analysis for lab experience </li></ul> <p>Current Course Schedule:</p> <p>October 2025 courses</p> <ul> <li>Grade 4 Management - 10/15 - 10/17 </li><li>Basic Laboratory - 10/20 - 10/24 </li><li>*Day Time Classes </li></ul> <p>November 2025 courses</p> <ul> <li> <p>Activated Sludge - 11/10 - 11/13</p> </li><li> <p>*Day Time Classes</p> </li><li> <p>Possibility of more courses</p> </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>Minimum Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>3+ years experience working as a Certified Grade 3 (or higher) Wastewater Plant Operator </li><li>Have a NYS DEC recognized Train the Trainer certification or be willing to complete the online certification prior to teaching course. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Experience using Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) </li><li>Previous experience training or instructing adult students </li><li>Understanding of Microbiology, Chemistry, Physics, and/or Math as it relates to wastewater treatment </li></ul> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>SUNY Morrisville is committed to creating a vibrant community enriched by diverse perspectives, talents and experiences, and prohibits discrimination in employment based on gender, race, ethnicity, nationality, physical capability, age, creed, sexual identity, veteran status, and economic means.
