The candidate will be responsible for independently developing study design, conducting experiments, analyze & interpretation of study results. The candidate should have strong expertise in cardiovascular physiology , pulmonary or renal areas involving invitro biochemical, cell cuture assays, organoid models, hiPSC cell culture, and ex-vivo techniques. This individual will collaborate with in vivo biology, translational science and nonclinical groups to help execute on company strategy.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Support the screening, characterization, and mechanism of action studies to elucidate signalling pathways for target identification, and validation utilizing various modalities, including small molecules, biologics and nucleic acids </li><li>Develop cell-based assays using human peripheral blood cells, primary cells, iPSCs and/or organoids, as well as ex vivo experiments to support in vitro pharmacology and translational studies </li><li>Collaborate with colleagues of the in vitro, in vivo, and translational teams to support PM's daily laboratory operations </li></ul> <p>Basic Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Masters or Ph.D in Biological sciences, or related discipline </li><li>2+ years in academic and/or industry experience preferably in cardiovascular, pulmonary and renal therapeutic space. </li><li>Proficient in culturing and working with human primary cells including renal or lung, human primary cardiomyocytes and hiPSC-cardiomyocytes. </li><li>Expertise with general laboratory techniques including qPCR, flow cytometry, ELISA, Western blotting, plate reader and microscopy </li><li>Working knowledge of in vitro pharmacology, including handling of candidate compounds in cell-based systems for cardiovascular, pulmonary & renal areas. </li><li>Attention to detail and ability to analyze, summarize scientific data, and clearly communicate update and report with the team and stakeholders, and perform detailed documentation of experimental results via ELN (Electronic Lab Notebook) </li><li>Proficient in scientific software (e.g., GraphPad Prism, FlowJo) </li><li>Publication record in cardiovascular, renal or pulmonary research. </li></ul> <p>Additional Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Industrial experience or experience working with academic/industrial collaborators and/or CROs preferred </li><li>Research background in immunology, or metabolism. </li><li>Hands-on experience with genetic-based approaches such as CRISPR and RNA interference is a plus </li><li>Understanding of the general drug discovery & development process, from target identification and validation. </li></ul> <p>Flagship Pioneering and our ecosystem companies are committed to equal employment opportunity regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender identity or Veteran status.</p> <p>Recruitment & Staffing Agencies: Flagship Pioneering and its affiliated Flagship Lab companies (collectively, "FSP") do not accept unsolicited resumes from any source other than candidates.
