<p>Schedule</p> <p>Full Time, Day Shift (80 hours biweekly)</p> <p>Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm</p> <p>General Summary</p> <p>Provides radiation therapy to patients as prescribed by physician according to established Wellspan Oncology Servile Line standards and practices at a beginning or intermediate specialist skills level. Assists with CT-simulation procedures and/or other treatments/procedures as required.</p> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Delivers a prescribed and planned course of radiation therapy to patients; obtains patient history, answers patient questions, and explains procedure. </li><li>Checks prescription, diagnosis, chart, patient identification, etc. </li><li>Prepares room and equipment for patient. </li><li>Reinforces recommendations given to patient by the physician, nurses, dietician, etc., concerning reaction to treatment and care of the radiated area, prevention or treatment of generalized and local side effects. </li><li>Observes patient for any unusual reactions or events. </li><li>Performs IGRT tumor localization procedures. </li><li>Prepares patient and equipment for, and performs simulation procedures. </li></ul> <p>Common Expectations:</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrates a commitment to patient, visitor and staff by: complying with all applicable safety regulations; learning the impact of medical errors and methodology that will lead to reduction of errors; reporting actual and potential errors, as well as hazardous conditions; identifying opportunities to standardize processes and "error proof" systems that will lead to increased patient safety. Participates in safety education programs and root cause analyses as required. </li><li>Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assessment, safety, environmental and infection control standards. Completes annual required LMS training as assigned. </li><li>Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops. Maintains current ARRT certification. </li><li>Maintains appropriate documentation in the EHR as required by the profession and Wellspan Oncology Service Line. </li><li>Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation. </li><li>Supervises, assists and evaluates students in the clinical education setting. </li><li>Aids in the training of radiation therapy students. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Minimum Education:</p> <ul> <li>Associates Degree Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy Technology Program Required </li></ul> <p>Work Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Less than 1 year Relevant experience. Required </li></ul> <p>Licenses:</p> <ul> <li>Registered Technologist-Radiation Therapy - ARRT within 180 days Required and </li><li>Basic Life Support within 180 days Required </li></ul> <p>Courses and Training:</p> <ul> <li>Appropriate training in radiation therapy.
