<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learning. </li><li>Follows up with students who have poor attendance. </li><li>Effictively assesses student needs and progress using the CASAS Assessment System. </li><li>Collaborates with fellow teachers to develop individualized intervention plans and materials based on student data. </li><li>Develops and implements rigorous and engaging lesson plans. </li><li>Prepares appropriate instructional aids and display materials to enhance learning. </li><li>Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student's needs. </li><li>Continues to grow professional knowledge of both educational and industry best practices by attending seminars, workshops, professional meetings and by maintaining professional relationships with members of the business community. </li><li>Coordinates with other professional staff members, and participates in faculty meetings. </li><li>Attends appropriate SDE meetings and trainings </li><li>Start Monday, December 15, 2025 </li><li>Hourly rate is $50.08 </li><li>Work hours are Mondays 6:00 PM-8:30 PM </li><li>12 week semester </li><li>Extra hours possible for programming covered under our federal PEP funding </li></ul> <p>Additional Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Director and Facilitator of Adult Education. </li></ul> <p>Note: The above description is illustrative of tasks and responsibilities. It is not meant to be all inclusive of every task or responsibility.</p> <p>Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of current adult education teaching methods and differentiated instruction based upon student learning styles. </li><li>Knowledge of the Connecticutl Competency System (CCS), including the CASAS Competencies. </li><li>Work with Program Facilitator in teh implementation of the CCS </li><li>Uses results from CASAS Pre/Post Assessments to plan and differentiate instruciton based on learner's abilities and goals. </li><li>Knowledge of the College and Career Readiness standards and research-based strategies for supporting students in Science. </li><li>Enters daily and/or weekely lesson plans into shared Google folder. </li><li>Knowledge of current and sound educational practices in the teaching of secondary Science. </li><li>Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis and the formulation of action plans. </li><li>Ability to use computer network system and software applications as needed. </li><li>Ability to organize and coordinate work. </li><li>Ability to communicate effectively with students, and colleagues. </li><li>Provide opportunity for students to receive out-of-class instruction and/or assistance. </li><li>Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth. </li><li>Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work. </li><li>Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards: </li><li>Works in standard classroom and school building environments. </li></ul> <p>Certification/License:</p> <ul> <li>Connecticut State Endorsement (#107) </li><li>Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to provide own transportation. </li></ul> <p>Education/Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelors from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment. </li><li>Successful prior teaching and/or volunteering experience in an adult edcuation setting. </li></ul> <p>Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards:</p> <ul> <li>Works in standard classroom and school building environments. </li></ul>
