<p>School Psychologist - .6 FTE - District</p> <p>Reports to: Principal</p> <p>Location:Ephraim Curtis Middle School</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>The psychologist will work within the special education department as a Team member in the evaluation/reevaluation process, counseling students on IEP's, and consulting and collaborating with program staff, teachers, administrators, and parents to support children. The psychologist will also work collaboratively with the school counselor to enhance mental health supports and services in the building.</p> <p>Key Duties & Responsibilities:</p> <p>Consultation</p> <ul> <li>Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to find effective solutions to learning and behavior problems; </li><li>Help others understand child development and how it affects learning and behavior; </li></ul> <p>Evaluation</p> <ul> <li>Evaluate eligibility for special education and Section 504; </li><li>Assess academic skills and aptitude for learning; </li><li>Determine social-emotional development and mental health status; </li><li>Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments; </li></ul> <p>Intervention</p> <ul> <li>Provide psychological counseling to help resolve interpersonal or family problems that interfere with school performance; </li><li>Work directly with children and their families to help resolve problems in adjustment and learning; </li><li>Provide training in social skills and behavior management; </li><li>Help families and schools manage crises such as death, illness, or community trauma; </li><li>Create positive behavior intervention plans; </li></ul> <p>Prevention</p> <ul> <li>Promote tolerance, understanding, and appreciation of diversity within the school community; </li><li>Develop programs to make schools safer and more effective learning environments; </li></ul> <p>Research and Planning</p> <ul> <li>Use evidence-based research to develop and/or recommend effective interventions. </li></ul> <p>Salary: Commensurate with education and experience based on the terms of the collective bargaining agreement. Bachelor to M+60 Lanes Steps 1-16 - From Approx: $58,000-$130,000 Based on degree and years of experience and prorated based on FTE</p> <p>Work Year: 183 days (.6 FTE) - prorated based on date of hire</p>
