<p>Job Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Assists in daily planning and coordination of the institutional operations including security, administration, and support for the institution, to include central office coordination. </li><li>Supervises security, custody, control, programs, welfare, and morale services for inmates. </li><li>Counsels with inmates as necessary. </li><li>Serves in capacity of Warden during his/her absence. </li><li>Supervises the implementation and executing of laws, policies, rules, and regulations, as well as operating procedures including OSHA regulations. </li><li>Enforces policies and procedures for a maximum-security institution. </li><li>Prepares (writes) various reports, special studies, and staff papers, including recommendations relating to proposed changes in policies, operating procedures, rules regulations and laws. </li><li>Supervises maintenance of the institution's buildings, etc. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned by the Warden. </li></ul> <p>Must successfully complete eight (8) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.</p> <p>Questions regarding the application process, this job posting or any other postings with the SCDC should be directed to:</p> <p>Recruiting and Employment Services</p> <p>(803) 896-1649</p> <p>Employment@doc.sc.gov</p> <p>Minimum and Additional Requirements</p> <p>State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:</p> <p>A bachelor's degree and supervisory experience in a correctional environment or relevant military experience.
