This role is responsible for overseeing residential operations that support individuals with disabilities, ensuring high-quality, person-centered services in a safe and empowering environment.</p> <p>The Residential Director of Specialized Programs provides leadership, oversight, and strategic direction for assigned residential settings. This position ensures responsive, effective support for individuals while fostering a culture grounded in dignity, respect, choice, and community inclusion. If you are an experienced leader committed to quality care, regulatory excellence, and person-centered values, we encourage you to apply.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>Program & Operational Leadership</p> <ul> <li> <p>Oversee day-to-day operations of assigned residential programs</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure the physical, psychological, and emotional health and safety of residents</p> </li><li> <p>Respond effectively to emergencies and potential safety risks</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain safe, clean, and therapeutically appropriate environments</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure compliance with all Rhode Island regulations, agency policies, licensing requirements, and union agreements</p> </li></ul> <p>Person-Centered Planning & Advocacy</p> <ul> <li> <p>Conduct assessments and reassessments to identify individual needs and goals</p> </li><li> <p>Develop and implement Individualized Support Plans in collaboration with participants, families/guardians, and interdisciplinary team members</p> </li><li> <p>Promote skill development, community integration, and socially valued roles</p> </li><li> <p>Support individuals in building and maintaining meaningful relationships</p> </li><li> <p>Serve as a liaison between families/guardians and the residential program</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinate ancillary and community-based services as needed</p> </li><li> <p>Monitor service outcomes and adjust strategies in collaboration with stakeholders</p> </li></ul> <p>Team Leadership & Staff Development</p> <ul> <li> <p>Supervise, coach, and develop residential staff</p> </li><li> <p>Oversee human resource functions including scheduling, payroll, leave management, and training compliance</p> </li><li> <p>Conduct staff meetings and interdisciplinary team meetings</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in incident review processes</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain required certifications (Medication Administration, CPR/First Aid, Safety-Care, etc.)</p> </li></ul> <p>Financial & Administrative Oversight</p> <ul> <li> <p>Manage participant funds and programmatic budgets responsibly</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure accurate documentation of billable services and regulatory reporting</p> </li><li> <p>Monitor participant records for compliance with state and agency requirements</p> </li><li> <p>Uphold confidentiality standards and ensure HIPAA compliance</p> </li></ul> <p>Core Competencies</p> <ul> <li> <p>Strong leadership and supervisory skills</p> </li><li> <p>Effective team collaboration and interdisciplinary coordination</p> </li><li> <p>Budgeting and financial management experience</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent written and verbal communication skills</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to provide education and training to staff, individuals, and families</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's degree required</p> </li><li> <p>1-3 years of related experience in residential services, human services, or program management</p> </li><li> <p>Valid Class C or Class D driver's license with acceptable driving history</p> </li><li> <p>Basic computer proficiency preferred</p> </li><li> <p>Must be a Safety-Care Master Trainer or complete training within six months of hire</p> </li></ul>
