This position will be responsible forplanning, implementing and supporting shipyard and offsite capital expansion, renovation and improvement projects.</p> <p>Listed below are some of the many tasks for which this individual will be responsible:</p> <p>Develop technical specifications and engineering documents to enable capital project design kickoff(s)Proficiency in understanding commercial engineering design and construction documentsParticipate in the formation and administration of design, consultant, and contractor / construction manager agreements required to execute capital expansion, renovation and improvement projectsLead diverse, multi-functional teams in the design and construction of capital expansion projects, including but not limited to internal teams, third party project managers, architects, engineers, material testing agencies, construction managers, general contractors, and suppliersReview of test reports for special inspectionsWork with Facilities leads and management, building occupants, complex system end users and particularly business unit leaders to ensure that objectives are being met; coordinate duties with Real Estate and Facilities leadershipProvide overall project management duties in the development, design, execution, and closeout of new capital and/or capital renovation / improvement projectsRegular inspection of capital projects with contractors, vendors, and suppliers to review quality of work and adherence to contractual requirements and standardsCoordinate project management requirements with Legal; Environmental, Health, and Safety; Security, Fire Department; and Real Estate and Facilities, as well as with operational groupsWork to establish and maintain capital budgets including submitting monthly accruals, budget forecasts, and reconciliation of actuals; provide explanations for variances and any proposed adjustments</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>7+ years of experience in development, design, and construction of commercial real estate projects or related experienceRun cost estimate solution design review for 3rd party quoted solutionsStrong project management and personnel management skills requiredAbility to motivate and lead multi-disciplinary project management, design, and construction teamsStrong negotiation, budget, and schedule management and reporting skillsProficiency in submittal and RFI creation, review and disposition</p> <ul> <li>Ability and experience to effectively use Microsoft programs including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Required:</p> <p>Bachelors degree of science (or higher) in Construction Management, Building Science, or Engineering disciplines10+ years of experience in the area of building construction, real estate development, facility management, design, or engineering</p> <p>Preferred:</p> <p>EB facilities experienceExperience in cost estimating review for 3rd party quoted solutionsStrong project management and personnel management skills requiredAbility to motivate and lead multi-disciplinary project management, design, and construction teamsStrong negotiation, budget, schedule management, and reporting skillsProficiency in submittal and RFI creation, review, and dispositionExperience gathering technical requirements from various stakeholders and developing a compiled requirements documentAbility and experience to effectively use Microsoft programs including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project</p>
