<p>Arch Amenities Group, the world's leading spa, fitness and leisure management firm, is seeking a full time Assistant Aquatics Director at the Mayerson JCC of Cincinnati. The Aquatics Assistant Director, under the direction of the Aquatics Director, will be responsible for assisting in the daily operations of the aquatics department; implementing policies and strategic plans for pool usage and staff management; pool and marina management and maintenance; training and supervision of staff; ensuring the highest levels of member satisfaction; and possess the ability to lead and motivate staff to achieve goals and exceed member expectations</p> <p>The Mayerson JCC:</p> <p>The Mayerson JCC connects people so that they can live happier and fuller lives, creating a more vibrant Jewish community. The JCC helps to foster social connections between its members and guests alike, bringing people together through a wide variety of programs and events. With an expansive fitness center, highly regarded early childhood and senior centers, top arts and cultural events, and classes for every age, the JCC connects, enriches, and inspires over 27,000 visitors per month. The JCC welcomes everyone, regardless of race, religion, or ability.</p> <p>Compensation</p> <ul> <li>Commensurate with experience - Range: $18-$20/ hour, commission for swim lessons delivered </li><li>Paid time off </li><li>This position is eligible for benefits including employer subsidized health insurance, 401K match, and more. </li></ul> <p>Purpose</p> <p>To support and oversee all aspects of the aquatic facility's operations and aquatic programs, ensuring a safe, efficient, and enjoyable environment for patrons and staff. The Aquatic Assistant Director is responsible for supporting the leadership team with strategic planning and day-to-day management of the facility. This role will also support in creating engaging and safe aquatic experiences for patrons of all ages and abilities.This position plays a crucial role in maintaining high standards of safety, cleanliness, and ensuring high-quality participant satisfaction while maximizing the facility's financial performance and community impact.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>Aquatic Operations</p> <ul> <li>Support with and coordinate training for aquatic staff, including instructors and lifeguards </li><li>Assist with conducting staff evaluations and report feedback to Aquatic leadership team </li><li>Stay current with industry trends and best practices in the aquatics field </li><li>Enforcement of all pool rules and regulations in a polite and courteous manner. </li><li>Secures substitutes and fills holes in lifeguard schedule </li><li>Maintain all chemical records, daily cleaning and safety checklists </li><li>Balances pool chemicals to meet mandated levels/standards. </li><li>Submits incident reports in a timely manner. </li><li>Support and assist with ongoing maintenance: adjust feeders when necessary, check operations of pump and flow meter, vacuum pool, wash down deck and pump room, clean stainless steel and filters, record pool readings, etc. </li><li>Display a professional appearance with appropriate dress/uniform. </li><li>Ensures Aquatics Team Members provide a clean, safe, and friendly environment for the Members. </li><li>Supports with maintaining all chemical records, daily cleaning and safety checklists </li><li>Is timely and punctual when reporting to work. </li><li>Ensure the aquatic area is safe, clean and orderly. </li><li>Assist with functions and tasks associated with special events. </li><li>Lifeguards for at least 15 hours per week. </li><li>Provides exceptional customer service </li><li>Supports in creating a fun & safe aquatics environment. </li><li>Any other task and/or duty assigned by the Aquatics Director, Assistant General Manager and/or the General Manager as deemed necessary. </li><li>Acts as Manager-On-Duty during shifts when needed. </li></ul> <p>Aquatic Programs</p> <ul> <li>Be knowledgeable of registration processes for group lessons </li><li>Monitor program quality and safety, assisting with implementing changes as necessary to improve participant experiences </li><li>Teaches group and private lessons for 10 hours per week </li><li>Support with marketing collaborations to promote aquatic programs and increase community engagement </li><li>Be knowledgeable of all aquatic information and programming </li><li>Support with responding to member inquiries regarding programs, products, services, policies, and procedures in a professional and timely manner. </li></ul> <p>Capabilities</p> <ul> <li>Strong organizational and planning skills </li><li>Excellent leadership and team management abilities </li><li>Creative problem-solving skills and ability to adapt programs to meet community needs </li><li>Strong communication skills, both verbal and written </li><li>Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and age groups </li><li>Ability to multitask and prioritize in a dynamic environment </li><li>The ability to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, walk, and talk </li><li>The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms </li><li>Ability to lift 50 lbs. </li><li>Demonstrate the ability to cooperate and work with others. </li><li>Demonstrate consistent integrity, dependability, responsibility and be able to meet deadlines. </li><li>Adaptable and flexible under stressful and/or unusual situations. </li><li>Ability to sit for long periods </li></ul> <p>Experience</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a supervisory role and a proven track record of successful team leadership </li><li>Minimum of 2-3 years of swim lesson instructor experience </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>High school education or comparable work experience </li><li>Current certifications in Lifeguarding, and First Aid/CPR/AED </li><li>Current Certified Pool Operator or Aquatic Facility Operator certification is preferred, but must be able to obtain within 90 days of being hired </li><li>Water Safety Instruction and additional certifications in specialized aquatic programs (e.g., water fitness, coaching) are preferred </li><li>Knowledge of aquatic facility operations and safety standards </li><li>Proficiency in computer skills, including program management software and Microsoft Office suite </li><li>Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays </li><li>Strong customer service orientation and conflict resolution skills </li></ul>
