<p>MISSION:</p> <p>The mission of BAC is to provide persons with disabilities innovative services and opportunities to achieve personal success.</p> <p>JOB SUMMARY:</p> <p>Provides general employment and life skills enrichment training support for individuals with disabilities (IWDs) at BAC. Assists Transition Services (TS) program participants in the training rooms. Work is performed under close supervision with minimal latitude in the use of initiative and independent judgment.</p> <p>EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</p> <p>The list of essential functions below is intended to be representative of the tasks performed within this job. Other duties may be assigned based on business needs.</p> <ul> <li>Assists with the development, implementation, and completion of Industry Readiness Training (IRT), Waiver Support and Employment plans for program participants. </li><li>Assists with the creation and implementation of training and provides documentation of program participants performance in an accurate and timely manner. </li><li>Executes established course objectives and instructs basic education and independent living skills; maintains safety of participants. </li><li>Instruct and supervise individuals in the use of learning materials and equipment. Use relevant technology to support instruction. </li><li>Determines course objectives and creates lesson plans and other resource materials to ensure sequential programming; creates new courses as needed. </li><li>Assists with completion and documentation of grant and billing benchmark processes. </li><li>Develops and maintains an excellent working relationship with staff. </li><li>Completes data entry tasks pertaining to participant services in an accurate and timely manner. </li><li>Conducts behavioral intervention to effectively deescalate situations and informs appropriate parties of incidents immediately. </li><li>Assists in completing scheduled assessments on program participants and provides this information to the appropriate Program Administrator. </li><li>Completes all appropriate recordkeeping processes on participant and program. </li><li>Assist in providing appropriate participant customizations and learning aids, when needed. </li><li>Participates in multi-disciplinary meetings for program participants as appropriate. </li><li>Transports program participants to and from training sites or offsite tour locations as required. </li><li>Ability to handle physical aspects of job, including bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching, and walking for periods of time. </li><li>Performs personal care tasks, including assistance with basic personal hygiene and grooming, toileting, feeding, transitioning and ambulation. </li><li>Attends staff meetings and in-service classes as required; serves on committees as assigned. </li><li>Provides departmental assistance as needed (i.e., staff coverage, cafeteria supervision, etc.). </li><li>Provides mentoring to other individuals within the department. (Transition Services Instructor I). </li></ul> <p>SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY</p> <ul> <li>None </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelors Degree in related field. </li><li>Four (4) or more years of experience in education and/or working with individuals with disabilities (IWD). </li><li>An equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience may satisfy the above requirements. </li><li>Must satisfy Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) Level 2 background screening requirements. </li><li>Must have first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and automated external defibrillator (AED) certifications and eight hours of continuing competence units (CCUs) as specified by the Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD). </li><li>May be required to have or obtain additional formal industry certification(s) based on area of assignment. </li><li>Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening. </li></ul> <p>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelors Degree in related field </li><li>Experience working with IWD </li><li>Experienced in Behavioral Management </li></ul> <p>In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications listed above, an individual must be able to perform each of the established essential functions in order to perform this job successfully.</p> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Basic knowledge of principles and methods for teaching and instruction for individuals and groups. </li><li>Intermediate knowledge of computer hardware, software, networks. </li><li>Ability to learn to operate a computer using Microsoft Office Suite and applicable department/organization specific software. </li><li>Ability to handle confidential employment information with tact and discretion. </li><li>Ability to establish and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work. </li><li>Ability to provide appropriate interventions to support program participants maintaining acceptable program behaviors. </li><li>Ability to organize work for timely completion. </li><li>Ability to regularly attend work and arrive punctually for designated work schedule. </li><li>Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. </li></ul> <p>TRAVEL:</p> <p>Travel is local during the business day.</p> <p>WORK AUTHORIZATION/SECURITY CLEARANCE (IF APPLICABLE):</p> <p>Must be authorized to access and work on government installations.</p> <p>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:</p> <p>Depending on the functional area of assignment, tasks involve the periodic performance of moderately physically demanding work, usually involving lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (up to 40 pounds). Tasks that require moving objects of significant weight require the assistance of another person and or use of proper techniques and moving equipment. Tasks may involve some climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. These requirements can be done with or without reasonable accommodation.</p> <p>ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:</p> <p>Tasks are regularly performed inside without exposure to adverse environmental conditions (e.g., dirt, cold, rain, fumes). Generally, there will be incidental outside exposure; however, staff may be required to work outside or inside without air conditioning for limited time periods.</p> <p>SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:</p> <p>Some tasks require manual and fine finger dexterity, in addition to visual and hearing acuity.</p> <p>Availability: Monday - Friday</p> <p>Salary: Starting $18.50</p> <p>Benefits:</p> <ul> <li>Medical insurance is offered. </li><li>Free Dental and Vision insurance for employees. </li><li></li></ul>
