<p>As an Audit Specialist at American National you will be a part of an audit team responsible for complex financial, operational, and compliance audits and provide meaningful observations, conclusions, and recommendations for improvement. In this role, you will enjoy a supportive cross-functional team out of our offices in League City, TX; Glenmont, NY; or Springfield, MO!</p> <p>What Will You Do?</p> <ul> <li>Performs financial, operational, and compliance audits of business units, external agencies, and vendors, which includes: executing the audit work program, and performing analytical, transactional, and control testing. </li><li>Prepares neat and organized work papers that support observations and conclusions and conform with professional standards. </li><li>Supports the annual financial statement audit and the annual audit of internal control over financial reporting by completing transaction and/or control test work on behalf of the external auditor. </li><li>Aids the company's annual assessment of internal control over financial reporting by completing control test work and communicating results and deficiencies to management. </li><li>Analyzes, interprets, and summarizes data, policies, and procedures to effectively perform audit work. </li><li>Communicates (in writing and orally) with auditees, management, and peers. </li><li>Uses numerous systems including accounting software, billing systems, policy administration systems, imaging systems, claim systems, and standard Microsoft products. </li><li>Conducts interviews with auditees up to middle management and reads policies and procedures with the purpose of gaining an understanding of business processes and internal controls. </li><li>Maintains a high level of professionalism and promotes our agility, collaboration, and engagement (ACE) culture. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree </li><li>Two to six years of relevant auditing experience. </li><li>Working toward CPA or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) </li></ul>
