Helping students develop into responsible citizens is an integral part of the EdisonLearning program.</p> <p>Job Summary:</p> <p>The School Office Secretary/Attendance Clerk serves as the focal point for communication by mail, telephone and in person as well as for maintaining a high degree of attendance accuracy and accountability. They manage the flow of information within the school and will be responsible for maintaining all school records. The School Office Secretary/Attendance Clerk provides administrative executive level special projects support, performs secondary office duties and manages the flow of attendance information within the school, as well as being tasked with maintaining all school attendance records. The School Office Secretary/Attendance Clerk must be flexible, personable, and able to communicate the school's mission and vision, and possess the same core values that are part of the school. This position will also provide administrative executive level special projects support and perform secondary office duties.</p> <p>Essential Secretarial/Attendance Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Create and maintain a welcoming and efficient front office that emphasizes organization, professionalism, courtesy, flexibility, and teamwork; </li><li>Responsible for recording, tracking, and following up with students and parents regarding attendance and all attendance initiatives; </li><li>Support teachers in accurately entering and/or verifying daily student attendance in the school's Student Information System. Use proper telephone etiquette and direct calls appropriately to school staff; </li><li>Works closely and effectively with the Principal (and/or Assistant Principal, Dean of Academics) to implement attendance policies; </li><li>Maintain the school's Parent Control Log/Tracker to document all attendance contact efforts; </li><li>Ensure that attendance emails are sent to parents or guardians of absent students; </li><li>Use proper telephone etiquette and direct calls appropriately to school staff; </li><li>Work closely and effectively with the school leadership to keep him/her well informed of upcoming commitments and responsibilities, following up appropriately; </li><li>Builds internal and external relationships crucial to the success of the school, and manage a variety of special projects, some of which may have organizational impact; </li><li>Remain attentive, patient, and fair with students and parents; </li><li>Become knowledgeable about EdisonLearning as well as the school community; be familiar with key EdisonLearning personnel, school board members and/or district personnel; </li><li>Perform internal administrative office duties including all voicemail administration including setting up new mailboxes and changing school voicemail greeting for vacations, etc.; </li><li>Provide needed assistance and communicate effectively with Principal and all staff; </li><li>Maintain all records, including school newsletter, and calendar; </li><li>Responsible for recording, tracking and following up with students and parents; </li><li>Manage business related processes as assigned by School Operations Manager and Principal (purchasing/expenses, invoices, office supplies, shipping and receiving, etc.); </li><li>All other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Key Relationships:</p> <p>Internal: School faculty and staff, students</p> <p>External: School visitors, vendors, contractors, parents</p> <p>Key Behavioral Competencies:</p> <ul> <li>Thinks ahead to set up requirements in advance.
