The Head of EHS will manage multiple contractors and vendors to ensure that all foreseeable risk is mitigated. In addition, the Head of EHS will build strong working relationships with PTC Senior Leadership as well as all Local, State, and Federal Government Agencies.</p> <p>Primary responsibilities include, but may not be limited to, collaboratively building employee safety programs in order to mitigate lost time incidence, working with Human Resources on specific employee initiatives, managing all budget aspects of the team including the sourcing and negotiation of supplier agreements (EHS Consultants, Systems, Training resources) and providing day to day guidance and support to our Research, Business and Support functions as well as providing relevant subject-matter guidance to our International Sites.</p> <p>The incumbent works cross-functionally with internal departments and external resources on Facilities/EHS related issues.</p> <p>The Senior Manager of EHS, ensures adherence to relevant regulatory requirements and company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as appropriate.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Create and maintain EHS SOPs and conduct timely audit activities to ensure compliance and applicability. Review and modify loss control procedures and reporting as necessary to meet all compliance requirements and metrics. </li><li>Establish global standards for safety and evaluate current procedures and ongoing operations for adherence to corporate procedures and regulatory requirements. </li><li>Safeguards and maintains highly sensitive and confidential information </li><li>Interact with and be the point of contact for all local emergency response agencies. Manage and oversee local emergency response teams within the organization. Work in tandem with the head of Facilities Operations and security to conduct drills for emergency and security response in conjunction with local authorities, as necessary. </li><li>Act as point person for all investigations (accident, or injury) and work with cross functional group to ensure corrective actions are implemented and appropriate claims for workers compensation and insurance are filed as required. </li><li>Act as Facilities lead for all insurance questions about all policy issues or renewals, loss prevention, life safety issues and maintenance of life safety systems and devices. </li><li>Ensure the proper training with required safety materials are delivered and complied to with regards to Hazardous material storage and handling </li><li>Build metrics and a scorecard to report EHS progress for the purpose of transparency to our teams and targeting opportunities to improve safety and security performance. </li><li>Develop and maintain the environmental site assessment program for conducting Phase I and Phase II environmental site assessments </li><li>Coordinate all activities with external service providers including sourcing and contract negotiation. </li><li>Actively support in the design, planning and construction of buildings, equipment, and machinery to support global offices and laboratories for employees and associates. Works with various departments to analyze support needs regarding facilities, equipment, and other support services. The incumbent will work directly with the Executive Director of Strategic Projects and CapEx to ensure that all projects are delivered on time and at or under budget. </li><li>Performs other tasks and assignments as needed and specified by management. </li></ul> <p>Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline and a minimum of 10 years progressively responsible experience in Environmental Health and Safety, preferably in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology or related environment. </li><li>Prior experience with developing environmental health and safety management programs and compliance with applicable regulations and guidelines required. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to manage multiple contractors and vendors. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to work effectively with various groups to ensure conformance to regulatory requirements, internal processes, and policies as required. </li><li>Demonstrated leadership ability and experience managing, coaching, and mentoring direct reports. </li><li>Strong project management skills and the ability to manage several projects simultaneously. </li><li>Detail oriented, resourceful, creative, and flexible with superior people skills for interacting with a wide constituency. </li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office. </li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication and skills. </li><li>Ability to work independently and collaboratively, as required, in a fast-paced, matrixed, team environment consisting of internal and external team members. </li><li>Analytical thinker with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines. </li><li>Excellent planning, organization and time management skills including the ability to support and prioritize multiple projects. </li><li>10% Travel Required </li><li>Special knowledge or skills and/or licenses or certificates preferred. </li><li>Full knowledge of all applicable laws and regulations (OSHA). </li><li>Knowledge of building codes. </li><li>Physical requirements- Capable of climbing/working on a ladder. </li></ul> <p>Expected Base Salary Range:</p> <p>$178,000- $202,000. The base salary offered will be contingent on assessment of candidate education level, background, and experience relative to the requirements of the position they are being considered for, as well as review of internal equity.</p> <p>In addition to base salary, PTC employees are also eligible for short- and long-term incentives.
