Discover your opportunities at Yale!</p> <p>Overview</p> <p>The Lead Clinical Data Analytics Manager for the YM Clinical Data Team serves as the institutional lead for clinical data analytics architecture supporting Yale Medicine's clinical productivity, operational performance, and strategic planning initiatives. This position is the primary technical expert responsible for the development, maintenance, and support of complex clinical dashboards, reports, and analytic solutions used by Yale Medicine and YSM leadership. This role manages the backend clinical data environment, ensuring the integrity, reliability, and performance of the data sources and analytics infrastructure that support clinical reporting and strategic decision-making.</p> <p>This position will lead the strategic direction of clinical data analytics infrastructure supporting Yale Medicine physician productivity, operational performance, and institutional planning initiatives. They will oversee the design and management of clinical data dashboards, databases, and reporting architecture, translating complex clinical and operational data into accurate, actionable insights. As the main data analytics programmer on the clinical data team, this role requires advanced expertise in SQL, reporting tools, and coding best practices, along with a deep understanding of clinical data workflows. The individual in this role partners closely with clinical, operational, and executive stakeholders to deliver high-quality analytics that support performance monitoring, planning, and institutional priorities.</p> <p>Required Skills and Abilities</p> <ol> <li> <p>Strong leadership and project management skills with experience in supervising and managing teams.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and prioritization guidance for clinical data analytics staff, establishing coding standards, documentation practices, and analytic governance.</p> </li><li> <p>Proficiency in data systems and technical solutions, including advanced use of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and data visualization tools.</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate diverse stakeholders.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to analyze data, drive decision making, and adjust strategies based on metrics.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.</p> </li></ol> <p>Preferred Skills and Abilities</p> <p>Master's degree or relevant experience strongly preferred in Public Health, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Data Science, or related field.</p> <ul> <li>SQL, and experience working with large, complex clinical datasets </li><li>Tableau or similar BI/data visualization tools. Epic Clarity </li><li>Experience developing and supporting enterprise clinical dashboards and reports. Experience maintaining backend data sources, databases, and analytics infrastructure. </li><li>Strong understanding of clinical data structures, data validation, and quality assurance </li><li>Proficiency with data programming or scripting languages (e.g., Python, R) </li></ul> <p>Principal Responsibilities</p> <ol> <li>Directs, monitors, and assesses needs and directs the application of resources of an administrative University office dealing with one or more major functional areas. 2. Directs and implements solutions to problems that are routine to complex in nature and that affect multiple functional areas of responsibility. 3. Plans and/or participates in planning University activities on a long-term basis to comply with University goals and objectives. 4. Establishes and implements consistent university-wide policies in multiple functional areas of responsibility. 5. Ensures that University office policies and procedures are in compliance with federal, state, and local laws and ordinances. 6. Develops and monitors goals and objectives for managerial and professional staff in compliance with University strategies. 7. Directs a staff of exempt and non-exempt employees. 8. May perform other duties as assigned.
