<p>Position Summary:</p> <p>Serves patients, clients, hospital departments and co-providers with an efficient and effective registration process with lead responsibility while encouraging a team effort. They answer phones and schedule patients for appointments.</p> <p>The radiation oncology department is looking for a full-time patient access clerk to join our other two patient access team members. Our patient access clerks have the first interactions with many of our patients so we are looking for someone who can "put their best foot forward" on behalf of our department.</p> <p>Within radiation oncology, responsibilities include:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Coordinating with registration and nursing staff to check-in patients for appointments</p> </li><li> <p>Collecting records and scheduling patients for consultations, re-evaluations, and follow-up appointments</p> </li><li> <p>Making referrals to other specialists as needed</p> </li><li> <p>Checking and forwarding / replying to voicemails</p> </li><li> <p>Scanning paperwork into the electronic medical record</p> </li><li> <p>Making reminder calls as needed</p> </li></ul> <p>Position Qualification:</p> <p>High School diploma or GED required</p> <ul> <li> <p>Excellent customer service skills required.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to communicate effectively through conversation.</p> </li><li> <p>Abiilty to type from face to face conversation.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to enter data into computer system with minimal typing errors.</p> </li><li> <p>Close attention to detail.</p> </li></ul>
