<p>Job Description Summary</p> <p>Responsible for assisting clinicians in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of the physician.</p> <p>How will you make an impact & Requirements</p> <p>Medical Assistant III</p> <p>Location: CA-Montebello, 2444 W Beverly Blvd 90640</p> <p>Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Provides front and/or back office support. Greets patients in a friendly, service oriented manner in compliance with Care Center (CCC) or Medical Group Practice protocols and workflows.</p> </li><li> <p>Oversees patient check in by ensuring medical records/charts have been pulled, patient data is current, appropriate paperwork is in order, and charts are reviewed/prepared. Interviews patient, measures vital signs and records reason for visit.</p> </li><li> <p>Explains procedures, performs treatments, and administers prescribed medication.</p> </li><li> <p>Oversees patient check out by scheduling follow up appointments, collecting co-payment if applicable, ensuring paperwork is complete.</p> </li><li> <p>Schedules and confirms patient's appointments.</p> </li><li> <p>Reconciles co-payments at the end of each day. Acts as preceptor for orientation and training of new and existing staff.</p> </li><li> <p>Requires H.S. diploma or equivalent and minimum of 2 years of related experience and minimum of 1 year experience as a Medical Assistant II or as an instructor in a Medical Assistant program; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.</p> </li><li> <p>Requires an active, current and valid Medical Assistant certification.</p> </li><li> <p>Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) may be required.</p> </li><li> <p>For Carelon Health business unit, satisfactory completion of a Tuberculosis test is a requirement for this position.</p> </li><li> <p>For Carelon Health business unit, completion of the Carelon Health Academy Preceptor Training Program is a requirement of this position and must be completed within 90 days of employment.</p> </li></ul> <p>Compensation: $23.00/hr. - $26.20/hr. & bonus eligible</p>
