<p>Job Description:</p> <p>The Middletown Public School District is looking for a visionary Assistant Superintendent of</p> <p>Teaching and Learning to lead our diverse public school system in delivering exceptional</p> <p>education. This role will champion the development and implementation of a data-driven,</p> <p>inclusive, culturally responsive curriculum that equips all students with the skills and knowledge</p> <p>to excel in a dynamic world. We are looking for a collaborative leader who will drive equitable,</p> <p>high-quality instruction, foster innovative teaching practices, and inspire a shared commitment to</p> <p>lifelong learning across our vibrant community.</p> <p>Mission Statement:</p> <p>Middletown Public Schools cultivates the brilliance in each student.</p> <p>Broad Function:</p> <p>This position is responsible for the overall management of Division of Teaching and Learning. In addition, this position is</p> <p>responsible for leading the development and implementation of a strategic and data driven curriculum for all teaching</p> <p>departments.</p> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Develops and implements a forward-thinking educational vision aligned with district goals and student needs.</p> </li><li> <p>Promotes innovative teaching practices that foster critical thinking, creativity, and inclusivity.</p> </li><li> <p>Engages stakeholders to build consensus and advance a shared commitment to academic excellence.</p> </li><li> <p>Analyzes student performance data to identify trends, strengths, and areas for improvement.</p> </li><li> <p>Designs and refines curriculum frameworks that align with state standards and evidence-based practices.</p> </li><li> <p>Integrates technology and innovative instructional strategies to enhance student learning outcomes.</p> </li><li> <p>Supervises and supports principals, instructional coaches, and curriculum coordinators to ensure high-quality</p> </li></ol> <p>instruction.</p> <ol start="8"> <li> <p>Facilitates professional development programs that empower educators to meet diverse student needs.</p> </li><li> <p>Evaluates staff performance, providing constructive feedback to foster continuous improvement.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborates with the Superintendent and leadership team to shape district-wide strategic initiatives.</p> </li><li> <p>Advocates for policies and resources that support equitable access to high-quality education.</p> </li><li> <p>Represents the district in community partnerships, fostering relationships to enhance educational opportunities.</p> </li><li> <p>Routinely visits schools; teachers, for the purpose of supporting teaching staff and promoting consistent curriculum</p> </li></ol> <p>practices district-wide.</p> <ol start="14"> <li>Organizes and coordinates District Data Team, curriculum and other committees that include parents, community </li></ol> <p>members, and other professional staff.</p> <ol start="15"> <li> <p>Provides for the organization of ad hoc committees to study specific instructional problems.</p> </li><li> <p>Interprets achievement data to the leadership team and other educational staff and serves as the District Test</p> </li></ol> <p>Coordinator.</p> <ol start="17"> <li>Proactively seeks out feedback from teachers to discuss instructional concerns with members of the central </li></ol> <p>administrative and leadership team.</p> <ol start="18"> <li> <p>Provides leadership in developing research designs to assess programs effectiveness.</p> </li><li> <p>Identifies and supports partnerships with SDE, local colleges, universities, and RESCs to support professional</p> </li></ol> <p>development and training for teachers and administrators.</p> <ol start="20"> <li>Participates in New Teacher Orientation in partnership with the TEAM Facilitator and Curriculum Leadership team </li></ol> <p>to plan and organize professional learning for teachers and administrators new to the district.</p> <p>Qualifications, Experience and Job Requirements:</p> <p>Minimum Education - Master's degree in education, educational leadership, or related field required.</p> <p>Minimum Work Experience - Ten years of teaching experience required, with three years in a district leadership position</p> <p>required. Proven expertise in data analysis and evidence-based instructional practices required.</p> <p>Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills required.</p> <p>Required Licenses/Certifications - Valid State teaching certification and a valid 092 certification required.</p> <p>Valid State Driver's license required.</p> <p>Salary & Compensation:</p> <p>$180,000</p>
