<p>Position Type: Principal</p> <p>Location: Greenbrier Junior High School</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Valid Arkansas Teaching License </li><li>Minimum of three years of successful and effective teaching experience </li><li>Building level leadership experience </li><li>Progress towards or completion of Arkansas Building Level Administrators License </li></ul> <p>The Greenbrier School District is seeking applicants to be active leaders in our professional learning community and who are interested in living the mission and vision of our school district while committing to our core beliefs:</p> <ul> <li>Children come first. </li><li>The classroom is the most important place in the district. </li><li>Leadership and accountability are keys to our success. </li></ul> <p>Job Description</p> <p>The principal is a vital member of the district and school level team and should lead setting the vision for achieving and sustaining high levels of student growth. The principal leads the strategic implementation of the school's mission through effective leadership of all stakeholders, including faculty, staff, students, parents, and the community. The principal effectively and efficiently oversees all aspects of the instructional program, school environment, and school operations.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Leading Teaching & Learning </li><li>Articulates a clear and compelling vision founded in strong and sustainable student growth and achievement outcomes. </li><li>Models and leads data-driven decision making and a continuous cycle of improvement in all aspects of the school. </li><li>Promotes high standards and expectations for all students and staff for academic, social, and behavioral growth and performance. </li><li>Ensures the implementation of the Science of Reading in all instruction in the school. </li><li>Participates in all team meetings, ensuring that team meetings are planned and facilitated through the four Professional Learning Community questions. </li><li>Leads the school's Student Intervention Team, including specific focuses on academic growth and learning, on-time credits, behavior support and interventions, trauma-informed practices, mental health, and the whole child. </li><li>Professionalism </li><li>Displays the highest ethical and professional behavior and standards when working with students, parents, and school personnel. </li><li>Serves as a role model for students through exhibiting professionalism, demonstrating the importance and relevance of learning, accepting responsibility, and demonstrating pride in the education profession. </li><li>Consistently uses effective and productive soft skills with all school district stakeholders. </li><li>Executive Leadership </li><li>Leads the school's Guiding Coalition. </li><li>Promotes distributive leadership by demonstrating and modeling strong educational leadership and decision-making. </li><li>Leads the school community as a professional learning community in alignment with the school district operating as a professional learning community. </li><li>School Culture </li><li>Fosters a positive and productive school climate by assessing, planning, and communicating with the school community. </li><li>Ensures the facilitation of a school-wide Positive Behavior Intervention System, including supporting assistant principals and staff in the implementation of this system. </li><li>Supports and collaborates with the assistant principals to ensure high standards of student behavior. </li><li>Ensures the implementation of the district and school's character development and social and emotional learning programs and initiatives. </li><li>Develops and maintains strong and effective school community relations </li><li>Strategic Action Planning </li><li>Evidence of strong knowledge of secondary school programs including but not limited to concurrent credit, Associate of Arts degree, Career and Technical Education, etc., and apply such knowledge for strategic planning and continual school improvement. </li><li>Evidence of strong knowledge of post-secondary school opportunities for students, including but not limited to college enrollment, two and four-year degrees, industry certification programs, workforce, etc., and apply such knowledge for strategic planning and continual school improvement. </li><li>Management </li><li>Manages, evaluates, and supervises effective and clear procedures for the operation of the school consistent with its mission and goals, including instructional programs, extracurricular activities, and behavior systems to ensure a safe and orderly climate, building maintenance, program evaluation, personnel management, office operations, and emergency procedures. </li><li>Ensure compliance with all laws, Board policies, and District procedures. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li><li>Professional Development/Human Capital </li><li>Ensures staff growth that impacts student learning through staff support systems, including observations, feedback, and evaluation with high levels of fidelity. </li><li>Participates in professional development as directed, including but not limited to adult learning around the Science of Reading, R.I.S.E, assessor training, differentiation, job-embedded curriculum development, leadership development, and evidence-based instructional practices. </li><li>Leads effective professional development for staff based on data and evidence based practices </li><li>Ensures implementation of the Arkansas model for teacher observation and evaluation with high levels of fidelity. </li><li>Commits to continual personal leadership development </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands:</p> <p>The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing job duties, the principal is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and talk or hear. The principal is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stopp, kneel, crouch,or crawl. The principal must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include closevision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
